Anyone else see it? Based on the real incident depicted in "An American Crime" which I'm not sure I want to watch after this one.

I hated it! It wasn't badly made, but brutal, ugly. Not sure how to describe the enjoyment we get from horror films, but this provided me none of that.

"The first authentically shocking American film I've seen since Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer over 20 years ago. If you are easily disturbed, you should not watch this movie. If, on the other hand, you are prepared for a long look into hell, suburban style, The Girl Next Door will not disappoint. This is the dark-side-of-the-moon version of Stand By Me."

I have read the book and seen the movie. Both are very disturbing. The movie more so because it's in your face. Ketchum may have expanded abit on the brutality, I'm not sure if he did or not, but either way it is not for the faint of heart. It (the movie) made me angry. Probably because there's just no hope at the end. None....
