I was reading an article on the origin of words from authors, words that authors coined in their books that became everyday phrases. Alongside Dr. Seuss' "nerd" and Milton's "Pandemonium", the article credited Sai King with the word "pie-hole" in Christine.
So did Stephen King coin this term, or was it existing slang, and was he the first person to use it in popular writing?
On another note, earlier today I was having a discussion about pizza places in the northwest, and I don't think I've said "pie hole" more times in a single day than I have today.
