It's fun to have them fondly recorded only in one's own imagination but I wouldn't mind watching it out of curiosity. Good or bad it won't effect the story. I'd like a serious remake of The Tommyknockers, a big screen adaptation of Gerald's Game and Insomnia, and an HBO treatment of The Stand in the tradition of GOT. Joyland and Duma Key and Lisey's Story are a few I'd like to see made first, though.
LOL...I should make more predictions, huh?Seems like you got your wish regarding The Stand, only not from HBO but CBS All Access. And Gerald's Game didn't make it to the big screen after all, but rather Netflix.
It's too bad it's gone quiet around James Wan doing The Tommyknockers, because I'd like to see a better adaptation of that too. The question is: can you make a good film out of a mediocre book? I think Tommyknockers is mediocre at most.

The Tommyknockers is a fascinating take on the "space ship story" idea, but in size and prose it is too beastly. I've always ranked it higher than most but that's probably because, like Bobbi perceives the shape of the ship while it's still encased in earth, I forgive the middle portion and see it as it could be. One thing is for sure, even as the pace dragged half way through, I never got bored...and it gave me the heebie jeebies. It would be interesting to see an adaptation of this book which reflects its creepiness, don't you think?
