As part of the wedding if you are watching it on tv you will see both Megan and Harry “bow down” or curtsy for the queen. The reason for this is that technaly everyone is her “subject” even her own familly. It’s also a sighn of respect. To the queen so even familly have to do it. For some reason. Just in case you where wondering. I k ow this as I am Canada and Canada is part of the comenwealth, meaning the queen hold higher power then our prime insted, meaning if we where to bring back like the deslth penalty or something the queen of England can technically get involved and say no or something. But she like never does that but she can if that makes scense

I started a thread at another forum, and it ended quite badly. Most people replied very negatively. Someone brought up the costume Harry wore to an event in 2005. He apologized for it, and he regrets it deeply. Most of us have done stupid things when we were young. Harry's mother died when he was only 12. She wasn't there for him when he needed her the most. He probably has a lot of unresolved issues and grief that he hasn't dealt with. Harry always seemed like he needed guidance, and he had difficulties in school. That's why he chose the military over university. The British press harassed Meghan relentlessly because of her ancestry. For some reason they thought they had a say in Harry's decision of a bride. I think people should just leave the couple alone. Let them have their day.

Yeh you are totally right, for a while until he explained it we all just thought he was being harry, but he really got no guidance from Charles, he mostly got it from William and price Phillip his grandfather, will tried but he was also only 15. They never should have greeted the crown after diannas death, that screwed up Harry and William but harry the most.

It’s also a huge deal in the uk as he is Diana’s son, and it’s like national pride, they did the same to Kate, it even caused William to freak out and break up wiht her for a short time. He was seeing wedding stuff in the stores and they where just dating. The familly had to like tell the British press to go away.

My mother is the same age as the Queen, and she was always highly interested in everything about the Royals, especially the weddings. She awoke at 3:00 and never went back to bed, just to watch the parade of gounds and hats and watching the ceremony itself. I did too with hubby, as we got up at 4:00. I know, I know. Seems quite special. But I learned that from my mom. Loved to see Meghan and Harry so happy together. They are very much in love I guess. Beautiful outfits, except probably Victoria Beckham, who by the way, never crack a smile. She's afraid of getting wrinkles she said. She was dressed like she was going to a funeral. Anyway, I was happy to see the kids and Fergie enjoying themselves, and George Clooney and his beautiful wife Amal. What a great couple!!! The queen looked upset at some times, like when the preacher was talking and choir singing, but she looked great in her green outfit. Prince Harry is a charming young man, and I'm glad he found love at last. Meghan has a great mom and she's a fantastic woman.

Grandma is invested in knowing the royalty of it all. But she's egalitarian. She'll follow anyone's family if it sounds interesting. She knows about Akihito too.

Y'know, it seems nice enough to me. Some Brit prince fancies an American actress (whom I enjoyed on Suits, by the way), and they hook up. Grand for them. He's handsome, she's pretty. They both seem happy. I've endured comments of FB friends about family drama, his attitudes, her dress(es), and I say screw it. They both seem happy and nice people. Let them figure out their own lives on their own. I wish them the best..

I liked the wedding dress. It was simple and reflected all kinds of class.
The tiara was very understated as well - it belonged to Queen Mary (the grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II)

It's funny - I am pretty sure my Mom came over to Canada after the second world war on a ship called the Queen Mary

Same my mom and I watched it together. The queen I don’t think is used to a black preacher..

I understand that they donated the numerous flowers to a local hospice and that Ms. Markle (how does one speak of her now?) left her bridal bouquet at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. If all that is true, it's touching and very nice to have decent people making meaningful gestures.

I think it was just because he spoke for 14 minutes (and was very animated) - I enjoyed his sermon but I did notice Camilla (Cammie-drawers as Andy calls her) giving a look and a comment to Kate and the Queen [as they say] "did not look amused". ;-D

I think she's actually the Duchess of Sussex now :hmm:

Don't think she'll take his last name of Wales - apparently that is what he was called in the military - Harry Wales (I think).

This is from Wales online:

"Once married, Meghan will sign as Meghan, no last name. Just as Harry signs as Harry. Royals use only a first name."

I just checked and I may be wrong about the surname Wales. It might be Windsor-Mountbatten?

On this website from Wales they are calling her "Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex".
