I think about how uses of language like that must be totally baffling to non-native English speakers, kind of the way it is for an American to read some of the British slang in an Adam Neville book. It's very effective in immersing the reader in the language, but it can be hard to figure out why it's being used even with a dictionary. I was thinking about it while reading Elevation with his usage of "lesbean."

Sounds like "Less being" but i don't know the context.

I learn lots of words reading Stephen
