Yeah, but I’m not walking as fast as I used to. I’ve been secretly building up a collection of King hardcover novels I find at thrift stores and have hidden them in my side of the garage... in the event one of our kids or me accidentally ruin one of hers going forward. She recently found out about my stash and now wants to see them all in order to swap out for her more worn copies. I have about 20 of them. Once, when I got into big trouble, I acquired her a signed copy of TGWLTG from the Haven Foundation. Didn’t impress her. She said the only thing she really wants some day is a signed, and personalized to her, novel from the master himself. So began my quest here. A fools errand, apparently. If I ever do get one, I’ll put it in a safety deposit box, and only taken out in the event I ever get in really, really, really big trouble.
LOL. The Framing of the Shrew. The way you describe your wife she could me the main character in our halloween story, just saying.
LOL. The Framing of the Shrew.
Just kidding.
And she says the same type of things about me. We are always talking about each other and jabbing like this, especially in public. People think it’s hilarious. Sometimes they even start in with their spouses... which often doesn’t turn out so well. We actually like spending the majority of our free time together. Where else could she get a manservant and not have to pay?
We've been together together almost 25 years now... three happily.
My husband likes to tell this joke, although he gives us mostly happy years. We've been together together almost 25 years now... three happily.
LOL. We do it for the laughs we get from others, not our wives. Next time he tells it look at the eyes of a man hearing it. His eyes and the subtle smirk will say 'Yup... Ain't it the truth?'My husband likes to tell this joke, although he gives us mostly happy years.
(pssst - neither of you are funny)
It was. This needs to be published, hilarious.
Makes sense to me, but not to her. She's a King purist. Novel has to be the way it is... no changes... no slickers. And a King book without it's dust cover is like a wagon without springs. She once spilled something on a page in Pet Sematary and I had find her a replacement. Luckily I was able to replace a Book Club copy with a first edition.
Yeah, but the name Ian Anderson is written in ink on the front page. That is why I was able to get a first edition so cheap. I was able to erase the name with a ink eraser but you can still tell there was something there and the spot is a bit worn down. Is there something out there that makes ink invisible, but doesn't destroy the page? I have the same thing with 'Faithful' that I picked up at a thrift shop.Bonus points!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing that I know of that will take an ink siggy off of paper.Yeah, but the name Ian Anderson is written in ink on the front page. That is why I was able to get a first edition so cheap. Someone needs to invent it.Nothing that I know of that will take an ink siggy off of paper.
Or just get rid of ink pens......Someone needs to invent it.
I'm guessing it's another Ian Anderson. The Jethro Tull guy in your pic is a British citizen and the book was printed in the US.Ian Anderson?
