Johnny fits into our universe because he's been in a King based movie (Secret Window) and it seems there is no middle ground on the SKMB with Mr. Depp- you either love him or you hate him. It's just something we like to tease each other with. No harm done.

I made it all the way to about 9 years ago without having read them. Then I read them and was genuinely amazed at how it pulls all he's ever written together. Not saying they are my favourite books (they aren't) but essential reading at some stage. Have fun.

I actually do feel lucky. One thing I'm noticing over & over again across the internet is that everyone seems to have different personal favorites when it comes to King's stories/books. Obviously books like The Stand & Dark Tower series stand out as some of his strongest work, and I can't wait to get to those, but everybody seems to be affected in their own unique way. One thing early on that I like about King is his ability to connect that charged "supernatural" feeling to his settings or landscape around his characters. His worlds are teeming with LIFE, that is why the dark stuff is so affective. Man, this is awesome. Where the hell have I been?
