yesWas that Dex, Deej?
I've watched all of the seasons, I love this show. I do feel guilty sometimes for liking it so much... and it did worry me how quickly I became comfortable with the whole thing. I don't actually watch the kills though... my hands are covering my eyes during those bits.Did you end up watching it? I did watch a few with my husband, he watched the entire series, but it really disturbed me. I think True Detective is going to be kind of freaky scary like that.
aw heck no. The more the merrier.I've watched all of the seasons, I love this show. Sorry for the hijack...
I must be confused about what it means to hijack? But I want to talk to everybody about all things. And even if something goes astray from the topic, that's OK by me. It reminds me of being stoned in high school and everything just flows together in one long conjoined thread of thought. Anyhow, love talking to you with you about anything anytime, all ya'll.I've watched all of the seasons, I love this show. I'm going to watch it after Downton Abbey tonight.I'm not saying a word until you watch it @Dana Jean
I liked it - I actually loved it. I wish it had been longer - I could have used more info and I could ogle those two guys all night long. The only bad thing about this kind of series is there will be so many unanswered questions every week - I can't stand the anticipation. My husband tells me that they are wrapping up at the end of each season - he's read about it somewhere. So these detective's stories will end, and it'll be someone else next season - kind of how Dexter did with the "guest" serial killer. I want to know what happened to Russ's daughter, and I'm not happy that I feel likeOkay, loved it. It had the feel of the movie Frailty about it. Which also had Matthew. I'm intrigue and definitely want to know where this is going. What were your thoughts Holly?
I guess the character's name is Rust.I liked it - I actually loved it. I wish it had been longer - I could have used more info and I could ogle those two guys all night long. I want to know what happened to Russ's daughter, and I'm not happy that I feel like. But all in all - creepy storyline, likable characters, loved the Southern flavor of the scenery. I'm happy at it. Maybe Maggie will get a kiss from Russ - that would serve Marty right. And did it sound to you like Woody kept saying "Rust" instead of "Russ"? I just know he's stoned!Marty is cheating on his gorgeous wife
Oooh, well then that makes a difference. And here I was thinking Woody's just being careless with his weed and mispronouncing, and they actually named a character "Rust". Interesting. LOLI guess the character's name is Rust.
Yes. Just finished it. I still love it. It is moving slow, but I think it's building its foundation. Obviously they are thinking@Dana Jean Did you watch tonight's episode? I still love it, but I think my old man fell asleep, he says he didn't but I think I heard snoring. It's slow moving, but I like that sometimes. I like the dialog and WTH was the creeper in the woods at the end of "coming next week" teaser?
Yes. Just finished it. I still love it. It is moving slow, but I think it's building its foundation. Obviously they are thinkingrust has something to do with these killings. I'm going out on a limb here and I think the preacher Tuttle has his fingers in this.
It's very atmospheric for sure, and the characters are complex. Obviously Rust has a heavy background to slog through. In all of the set up, the thing tonight that tweaked my interest was the journal. Who in the prop department sat down and had to make this journal. Draw the doodles, write the words. I would like to know more about this behind the scenes. The making of the journal. A bit odd I know, but I find these sorts of props in movies and shows fascinating. Someone has to make these things.
I'm still excited to see the development and where this is going. And yes, next week looks knee deep in weird.
It would be superfine to have a job doing things like writing up a make believe journal of a crazy drugged working girl for a creepy azz series for sure. How does one get a job like that and does it pay the bills? I was thinking, as the credits were rolling, that it took a bazillion people to make this series. I've never seen so many credits on a 1 hour show.
I've got my theories but I'm never right.I almost suspect that Rust is just riding the crazy train and maybe he made things up. I would love for him to get sweet on Maggie, because I have trouble watching Marty be such a rogue, I love him so.
OH MY GOD! Me too! I own Carnivale on CD (what there is of it.) I was crazy disappointed when they didn't go on with that one. And Six Feet Under -- brilliant. I bawled like a banshee at the ending.
