Hello all, been reading about Maximum Overdrive on the net, I hope we can see an unrated Director's cut on Blu-ray in the future!! So much was cut from the final version. The only one who could make this happen is Mr. King himself, because he is the only one that has the unrated director's cut. Please Mr. King if you read this give us a unrated Blu-ray!

Welcome. King may very well have an uncut version of the movie but he doesn't own the rights to it- De Laurentiis Studios probably owns that.

Hi, was just thinking about how this was King's only directing credit. Does Stephen have any interest in supervising a transfer so that this could be released on Blu-ray, or even 4K UHD? I ask because many older films that have been released on Blu-ray are often supervised by the director or dp (director of photography).

Also wondering if Stephen watches movies on newer formats (Blu-ray or its successor 4K UHD) or if he still watches DVDs. If he did supervise a 4K release he should make sure he watches some 4K UHD's from the 80's so he knows how films from that period should look on a 4K UHD disc.

Unlikely it would be something he'd want to add to his to do list.

He still watches them in DVD but also Blu-ray. Not sure about 4K UHD.
