He is in one of the spare bedrooms, under the bed. He seems to prefer being there right now...it is his comfort zone, I imagine. Last night, when Becky came home from up north, we gave him a bath. He was very dirty and smelled bad. He gave one little cry but then stood still and Becky said he purred while getting washed. I cannot hear well enough to notice this. She, also, said he purrs while he eats. I got one call from my ad but it was not the same black n white cat that the people lost. Anyway, he has his own room, food and water, and much heat. He also fancies a big white rat toy my cats had and sleeps with it like a pillow.

I assume he will come out eventually lol. He was sooooo close to freezing to death. I had fed him before in my garage and I think he knew where to come for help. He always ran away before but not this time.

I love stories like this!

We got out of our car yesterday and heard a cat meowing, there was one sitting across the alley. She ran right up to us, very friendly even with the young kids. But she seemed to be in very good shape, couldn't just be a stray. Still, he hung out with us for a while so I got her some food, which she ate. When I came out later, she was gone. I figure if she's really a stray she'll be back.

People don't choose their cats. Cats choose their people. And it looks like you have been chosen.
I think you're right Lepplady. My cat ran up to me out of nowhere about 7 months ago and just fell over on his side in front of my feet right as I got out of my truck. He acted like we were long lost buddies or something. I have never liked cats that much, but he was very scrawny looking, his fur was all matted with dirt and he just looked pretty pitiful. As soon as I opened my front door, he strolled in like he owned the place...much to my dog's chagrin. I ended up taking him to the vet, getting him cleaned up and named him Thomas, but I never thought I'd actually own a cat. Strange creatures but I've definitely become attached to him....my dog, not so much, but she has at least gotten used to him....

Star, he'll come out of his shell soon enough. One of my strays was thought to have been dead on the side of the road. It was literally petrified
motionless. Soon discovered it's mama was up a nearby tree. We brought both in. It took Fialka a few days to calm down. At least she had her mama and food/ water/ shelter. To this day, she'll get a little afraid at loud noise, but such a love bug.
Thank you for the rescue. It does not go unseen!

On his shell he holds the earth.
I rescued one of my little kitties in a snow storm in Utah while I was on vacation. She was the runt and her mom had kicked her out. She didn't even have her eyes open! It was touch and go for awhile and she's a little "slow" still but I was originally going to give her up. She's now my husband's best friend and they are inseparable. So keeping him may be a blessing in disguise!

I was outside a few years ago, and I heard something screaming. Not meowing, literally screaming. And there was this little slip of fur running up my driveway at me. A tiny little kitten, poor wretch of a thing. I picked him up and brought him inside. He ate like there was no tomorrow. The vet told me that he absolutely wouldn't have lived through the night, and he had such a horrible case of some weird skin fungus that the doc called other people into the room to look at it.
Lots of love and a few years later, here's Stitch. Happy and healthy. We call him Eyeliner Boy for obvious reasons. He's brought more into our lives that we did to his.

Cats often don't care if people like them or not, but if one decides they like you, you have a life long pal.
Usually they like you when you are sweet to them and provide cheeseburgers.
