LOL. No that's the representation of a Democrat. And I doubt I could be mistaken for a Democrat. Dead Elephant Ale on the other hand...Hmmm you sure this isn't the one they named for you?

Long Trail is decent on tap, but I'm not a big fan of the bottled stuff... it's OK, but bland compared to other Vermont beers... that's probably because I'm a hop head... it does, however, beat the he11 out of Otter Creek's Copper Ale. Long Trail does have some other pretty good beers...Lone Star is decent, but falls in the "meh" category for me personally. My current state comes in at 17 and the place in Tampa they specifically cite I have been to several times. There are a ton of microbreweries here in sunny FLA and all of them pretty good. The Dunedin Brewery is particularly yummy. I do have to say that the best bottled beer I've ever had was Long Trail Ale from Vermont. I prefer a less stout beer myself and the crispness and finish of that beer is spectacular.
OoO, your pick of New Hamster or Vermont beers? I like ales.
There are a lot of these beers available down here in FL. I assume this is because there are a lot of people from New England that live and visit here.I agree with Hoss and Nate about Long Trail and I will add Magic Hat from Vermont. In NH Smuttynose and Red Hook Breweries are both popular and pretty good. A less well known brewery is this one up in The White Mountains called The Tuckerman Brewing Company. They have a pale ale that is superior. As long as we are in New England Maine's Shipyard Brewing Company has a pretty good selection and in MA you can't forget Sammy. Their summer ale is always worth it.
Hey, I got no problem with an ice cold Bud Light. I ain't fancy neither!...Ohio is #12, as in "12 pack" or "half a case"...I've not had but passing acquaintance with micro-brews and those that I have sampled, have been boring...I'm not fancy, give me Killian's and a shot of JD anyday...

Or people from there get used to the flavor of poop and don't like real beer so they have their swill trucked in...That and Florida can't brew any good ones.......
At Busch Gardens here in Tampa, they used to have "Beer School". AB used to own the park, but have since sold it. Anyway, originally there was a working AB brewery and distribution warehouse on premises, but they closed it in favor of expanding the zoological part of the park. The closest AB brewery and distribution point is Jacksonville now. But at beer school they used to truck in fresh made samples daily. The on Tap AB beers are still fresh at least every other day. My whole point is that fresh brewed Bud and Bud Light are actually quite fantastic beers. It's after it's sat for a while that it becomes pedestrian level. I know this as a very multi-time graduate of beer school.Since we're talking local breweries:
About a half mile from me right now is a cluster of craft/micro breweries.
New Belgium, maker of the fairly famous Fat Tire and a number of other yummy batches, including the aforementioned 1554.
Odell's, maker of 90 Shilling, a very popular local ale.
Coopersmith's, more of a true microbrew, cooking up their own batches to sell in the store. They have an IPA, a stout, and a wheat that are all superb. They also have a green chili beer, which is an acquired taste. I can enjoy one glass, but just one, and even them, I'm wondering what the next day will feel like.
Fort Collins Brewery, and I can't name you their products, but I've never had anything there I didn't like.
Down the road is Left Hand Brewery. Great stuff there. Rock Bottom Brewery in Denver is very popular. Boulder Beer sells well. Up in the mountains, Breckenridge Brewery makes an oatmeal stout that's just sublime.
And many, many others. When we have our local brewers fest, we only invite Colorado labels, each of which can only bring one of their offerings, and we end up with over 50 booths.
Oh, yeah, Coors and Bud are here too.
Oh, this is *awesome*.Just snooping around looking for interesting beers for this thread, I ran across this one.
Butch Otter is the governor. This was brewed as a statement to Otter about striking down Gay Rights to marriage.
We used to have a microbrewery in town. They brewed Red Ass Ale. There was a scarlet donkey on the label.
The really neat thing is that they were the sponsors for our soccer team. We called ourselves the Kickers, which makes sense for a soccer team, right? So that's right... we were the Red Ass Kickers.
I can prove it. When I get home, I'll dig out the shirt and take a picture of it. It has the scarlet donkey kicking a soccer ball.
...my late grandmother, who passed away at 98-gave credit for her long life to a daily snort of Crown...Hey, I got no problem with an ice cold Bud Light. I ain't fancy neither!
Though I hate JD. I prefer Crown Royal (esp the Special Reserve) to most all whiskeys.
