He was upset over being rejected by women and had a grudge against the men who could get a date.

Sounds exactly like Mr. Mercedes.

There seems to be a lot of online debating why the cop didn`t shoot him.
A lot of people say the cop is no hero, he should have taken him down.
And I understand that, to some degree, we don`t have the death penalty and the a-hole is gonna be having his three square meals a day, watch cable, hell, get an education if he wants to. Paid for with our tax dollars, of course.
But I think the cop did the right thing, I do not believe that this is the main reason for the murders, a billion guys get rejected every day somewhere on the planet, but they sure as hell don`t go into a killing spree.
When something like this happens, I absolutely never believe that the killer worked alone, I am convinced that there is a lager network behind every terrorist attack.
Watch the movie Arlington Road, if you haven`t already, there is always somebody in the shadows. The movie is fiction, of course...but then again ...is it?
So, by having him captured alive, maybe there is going to be some information from the monster down the road, so future attacks can be maybe prevented. Yeah, many will say now I`m a paranoid conspiracy nut, but this is what I believe.

Just saw 'breaking news' on TV. Ten charges of first degree murder and 13 charges of premeditated attempted
murder. They also said he had posted a statement to social media moments before he started shooting. Most of the victims
were women and further names of victims will not be released until the autopsies have been completed.

RIP. Thoughts to the families and injured. This sounds very familiar, very like the attack in Stockholm a little more than a year ago only he did not use a van but heavier vehicle. Stole it and started to drive down a walking street and killed 5 people and injured more. He was named Akilov and has had his trial. Acted alone, had been influenced and radicalized through certain sites on the internet that actually encourage this kind of behaviour. In trial he admitted most of the accusations and seemed proud of them and totally indifferent to the people he hurt and killed. He wont see the sun again. I think its good he was caught alive then its a better chance to find out if he too acted alone or people stood behind him. If it is a parallell to the Stockholm case then we must ask ourselves how to stop these internet pages from doing harm. After all they are encouraging people to commit terrorist acts which should be illegal.

The people who are saying the cop should have killed him are also saying if he had less people would have died. And that is absolutely incorrect. He was arrested within minutes and nobody was injured after a police officer saw him.

He was armed with a cell phone. The video does not clearly show it...but the cop had a clear view and he saw it was a cell phone. People get angry when the police shoot people for being armed with a cell phone....or a kitchen knife.

The guy was shouting “shoot me in the head” and making sudden movements as if pulling a gun from his back pocket. This is often referred to as attempted suicide by cop. And it is most common a person suffering a mental illness or a mental breakdown. Our cops should not be killing people who are suffering mental illness or a mental breakdown.

I don’t agree with your conspiracy theory in this case. But...we each have a right to our opinions, and I’m not thinking yours makes you a nut. And I think police need to consider everything in their investigations.

They have just started to identify a few of the victims - it's so sad.

Indeed they do have to consider every avenue.. before I retired, we had a bulletin from the FBI on a cell phone that was actually a modified gun, you could fire one round through it.. and of course you don't know if the cell phone may be a trigger for a bomb in the van.. that officer showed a lot of restraint and guts in my opinion..

...we see a lot of handmade weaponry in the prison system, so you honestly don't truly know if that innocent looking "device" is harboring a nasty and deadly surprise or not.....
