My Father has a first hand account what it was to be a Marine in 1966 only going to Vietnam. He has memories from boot camp. So much he can only tell. Please give his story a chance.

Yup. My dad did two tours, one as a foot soldier in the Army and one in the Air Force, a Purple Heart for each tour, and NEVER talked about it, except in very general terms. Mom says he was a very different person afterward than the guy she married. My only memory of him saying much at all is when I sneered in my 17 yo arrogance that they wasted their time there--he got pretty apoplectic (understandably, I think now).My brother that is 2 years older than me will not talk about his experiences over there to this day..
Thank you for everything, John! Everything!I am a Vietnam vet. I served on the ground in-country from 1966-1967 as radio-teletype support to the South Korean Marines.
