Finished season 2 of Westworld. The show continues to be good, with some truly standout episodes (the ones about Shogun World & the Native American tribe), but the writers overdid it with the shifting timelines. I'm not a fan of this technique to begin with. It's overused to the point where at times I lost track of what was going on, resulting in many of the dramatic reveals being undercut. I hope they reel this in for S3. I have to make special mention of the cinematography though: it was absolutely beautiful, and further evidence that the line between movies and television are blurring.

I started re-watching Twin Peaks The Limited Series as there was some discussion of it in another thread by Dana Jean and some others. Watched the first two hours. It really gives me the heebie jeebies. I had bad dreams.
I wish I could watch some episodes of it. It's out here on blu-ray, but while I loved the original series I'm not sure I will like it, so buying the box set rightaway might be wasted money. The scenes I saw on Youtube didn't give a me a good feeling, but they're just scenes out of context of course. And everyone looks so old!
I keep reading everywhere that it's so different from the original series. Of course the movie Fire Walk With Me was a bit different from the series too and I did love that.
I'm waiting til the box set drops in price or til it shows up on tv.

Would you say it's more like the original series or the film Fire Walk With Me? Or altogether different?

Castle Rock,
I love the little nonchalant wave the mascot guy gives the girl before jumping off the school, it just seems so innocent and like he’s not about to commit an act that will no-doubt haunt that little girl for the rest of her life

Grandma and I have our regular watching. She likes more shows than I do, but we have a few that we generally watch together. Big Bang Theory, Blue Bloods.

We watched an episode of Young Sheldon a couple weeks ago. I was unexpectedly impressed. It packed in the 22 minutes with humor, love, a crisis of faith, and some touching sentiments. Really good writing on that episode.

On Netflix, we're season 2 on Luke Cage and enjoying it. We were watching Season 2 of Shooter but it got a bit dark and brutal for us. We're also catching up on Frazier, in sequence, and surprised by how many episodes we never saw. Man, that show had good writing and acting.

I finished The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix last week. Exceeded my expectations. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be afraid to turn off the lights. I was going to write a long review with detailed explanations but I have been too busy. Anyone seen it? This is the Flanagan limited series, not one of the film adaptations of the novel. I watched it the day it came out but apparently there is a lot of hype surrounding it. It deserves the attention it's getting.

I've been considering watching Hill House and Sabrina - and I keep trying Maniac and falling asleep. Has anyone tried that one yet?

I can't get enough of The Great British Baking Show. I'm so old. And Lore - I fall asleep during Lore. Basically I just need something good to fall asleep to - anything that keeps me awake won't do. I did stay awake way too late watching 11/22/63 one night last week - I made it thru 5 episodes I think.
The character of Bill wasn't in the book, was he? I got kind of bothered that I couldn't remember him or did they write him in to aid the storyline.

I liked Maniac but it is one of those shows that requires a viewer's full attention. Watching passively would be a waste of time. I'm not a big sci-fi guy but I thought it was smart and ground breaking.

I have not seen 11/22/63. That name doesn't ring any bells.

I agree - I was totally lost. I'd really like to get through it. A new idea is always exciting - and the poor guy - what a great actor. He's completely believable.Emma Stone is always good.
