....his early novels were my favorites.....the latter half of his catalog before his death-got way to tech heavy......I like the suspense, but don't need a manual of arms etc......
Red Storm Rising. The most realistic conventional WWIII novel I've ever read. It's dated now, but still a helluva good read if you like military thrillers.

Clancy in his later books, the Jack Ryan jr and when Ryan has been President for awhile, feels routiny and sometimes too heavy on tech things. His 80-ties and early 90-ties were best. Then it went downhill.
