I've just popped her behind a spoiler, erring on the side of caution. :biggrin2:

Also, I LOVE Roger Waters, and hadn't heard this... thanks!
Do you like his Amused to Death album? Love that one.
Jesus that caption makes it seem worse than it is

I like Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking but haven’t listened to a lot of his solo career, I really like all the stuff he did with Pink Floyd but he just kind of comes off as a pretentious a-hole as a person, The Wall is one of my favorite albums of all time but I don’t like how he treated Richard Wright while making it. At the same time though I mostly ignore it because he’s a great lyricist and I like his musical talent separate from his personality.

Atom Heart Mother-The Wall was the best era for Pink Floyd imo, all the albums were great, although The Division Bell and The Endless River at the end of their run are both spectacular. The Wall, Animals and Wish You Were Here are my favorite Floyd albums. I own Animals on vinyl. Sadly the Bluetooth functionality to my record player is broken and physically plugging in a speaker plays at a very low volume that you can’t adjust.

Yeah, you're totally right... I've edited it back out. Sorry...

Oh, I didn't know that about Roger Waters, I think he's a very clever lyricist but I don't know anything about Roger Waters the man.
I love Wish you were here too.
(the Amused to Death album might be quite fitting to listen to during these times)

I hope you can get the Bluetooth fixed at some point, that sucks!

Yeah it's definitely something with the record player because the speaker connects to my phone just fine, it's fine for right now though, having Spotify premium is nice. I think Pink Floyd mastered the craft of making concept albums, I didn't like Dark Side of the Moon compared too their other albums at first but it's grown on me. The woman wailing her lungs out on The Great Gig in the Sky annoyed me at first but now in retrospective it makes sense after reading some quote from Roger Waters or Gilmore or somebody about what it means in context (although the singer claims she completely improvised the part, take that as you will, I still like the band's explanation for it). Breathe (in the air) and Time are such masterful song writing and fully complete an album all about the journey from life to death. Animals is really clever in it's representations of social classes, take their views as you will but the expressions and metaphors they use really empower the message, Pigs on the Wing pt. 1 & 2 is a nice bookend to the album but it's the three songs in between that set the tone.

Fun fact: while they were shooting the cover for Animals the pig balloon broke free of the tethers attaching it to the abandoned factory it was shot at, and the high wind blew it straight into an airport runway, delaying multiple flights and causing a lot of explaining (and paying) to do. I can only imagine being some random British guy looking at the runway while waiting for a flight and just seeing this massive pig-shaped balloon blowing at high speeds straight into air traffic. The cover looks like a painting but it was actually a photo.

here's a pic of the balloon moments before being popped. R.I.P piggy, your tale lives on.

Absolutely... masters in making concept albums. (I felt the same way about the vocals in The Great Gig in the Sky at first, but it grew on me after a while.)

Spotify is great!
