I've been hopping in the ol' time capsule and listening to Cheap Trick a little bit. :) I actually got to see them a couple of summers ago. So there's one off the bucket list. I listen to Nina Simone in the car constantly.

Okay, want to put this up real quick. At the time Letterman was leaving teevee, he put on some great musical stuff. He did a week of the Foo Fighters, who are pretty darn good already, appearing with musical guests, and the last nite they did 'Polk Salad Annie' (which I though of as an Elvis song) with this guy Tony Joe White, and damn! That was just good. So I tracked down some of his cds. Turns out he's the unofficial 'King of Swamp Rock' and has been putting out good music, and writing for other people for like 40 years. So here you go -- as The Rock said in Moana, Your Welcomed!

They cut the part at the end here where Letterman said, referring to Tony Joe White, "If I was this guy? You could all just kiss my
ass!
And I really mean that."

At about 2:50 he digs down & starts playing it dirty! Wow. I left this really believing this guy has a "truck patch"! How anyone could hear this and go back to listening to Keith Urban, I just don't know.

The Black Crowes - The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion

The title sounds more like a manual than an album title but this is a damn fine album. My favorite of the Crowes.

If you want to buy this cd, try and find an old copy. The most recent cd release is badly brickwalled and the sound is very harsh. I don't know what in the hell is wrong with dynamic range but many reissues are done like this with no dynamic range. (I sound like my dad complaining about feedback ;-D)

There's not a bad song on that album...
