One of the single most discraceful things that ever happened in the world of music was the turning of Bob Seger's "Like A Rock" into truck commercial fodder .....I used to love that song. Now I can't listen to it anymore. Ever. :(
...I can still listen and love, but I agree Chevy should be jack slapped...

Jethro Tull - songs From The Wood (40th Anniversary edition)

I got this is the mail yesterday so I haven't got to everything here but I can say that this is a phenomenal release. This special edition contains 3 cds and 2 dvds and an 80 page book and has a very reasonable price of $38 on Amazon. Jethro Tull's classic period albums have been getting this treatment the past couple of years. I've previously purchased the Aqalung and Thick As A Brick releases and they all sound fantastic. Highly recommended.

cd 1 - A new Steve Wilson remix of the original album (not any radical changes, just great sound) plus unreleased material
cd2 & 3 - A 1977 concert recording
dvd 1 - High resolution versions of the remixed album and extras plus a flat transfer version of the original album (not the newly remixed version)
dvd 2 - 1977 concert

Chills. Nice cover and smooth piano flourishes.
I also like Ingram's hit song I Don't Have The Heart.

Another cover. This song takes me back to a very specific time. It's almost too painful to listen to.
You find the best covers. The ending that guy sang on Just Once was so emotional.

Chevy just took advantage of a good song to make some money. I put the real blame on whoever owns the rights to the song for making it available in the first place. Alas, this is the way of the world these days.
...I understand that....just burns me that a classic was prostituted in such a way, but I'm sure Bob enjoyed the royalties...

Always when I visit you, I feel limitless
Everything else is so far away from here

I like the silence here between the trees
As if the peace on earth really existed

It's a beautiful way which leads to you
Yes, I like it, because it seems so light and friendly

I brought flowers, don't know if you like them
Back then you might have been delighted

If you don't like them, don't go on bothering
They will for sure soon be cleared away

How I feel, that's the question you ask every time
I'm OK, don't want to cause you sorrow

And so I talk to you like I always had
As it always used to be
As if we had plenty of time

I feel you really close to me here
Can hear your voice in the wind
And when it rains I know that you sometimes cry
Until the sun shines, until it shines again

I should send you love from the others
They think of you really often

And your garden, it's in a really good condition
Though one sees that it is missing you much

And there are still letters for you, adressed to you in bold characters
Though everybody knows that you've moved away from here

And so I talk to you like I always had
And I promise you
Someday we'll have plenty of time again

Then we'll see each other again
If you want to, you might take care of
The sun shining down on my grave as well on that day
That the sun shines, that it shines again
