1984? That was a pretty good song; :smile2:

I thought at first you meant this one:

Flying Pickets mostly did covers and added often a little english wit to it. But i must admit i love their cover of The Platters original. Also did good ones of, among others, Dadorunrun, The Lion sleeps tonight, When i'm young and in love and Only the lonely. Mostly no music or instruments, just song and sounds they make.

Thanks - I like the sound of the Flying Pickets! :adoration:

I saw the Platters in 1984, I believe it was, in a restaurant/bar (which is how my dad could get me in there to see them, they served food). I remember their back-up band guitarist warming up to Jeff Beck. His tone was different but he still rocked it as the song played over the speakers. (Don't quite remember which one it was)

My wife always says I have the most random taste in music. I prefer to think I have a diverse taste. My iPod or at least when those were a thing would have everything from Sinatra to Tupac. I'm a big fan of classic country as well. Today's country seems awful to me so as the genre headed that direction I started listening to red dirt bands like cross Canadian ragweed (which SK references in a few books, which I really found cool). In recent years I attended a few shows of a slightly folk like group called truth & salvage co. I've really enjoyed their shows and listening to similar groups on their pandora station. Check them out if that sort of music tickles your fancy.

I have Sinatra on my ipod along with an assortment of eclectic music.
