I've been listening to The Doors the past few days. There was a box set issued about 10 years ago called Perception that has cd versions and dvd audio versions of all 6 albums. The dvd audio versions sound fantastic but I think they did remixes on the dvd audios because you hear a few extra things. There is nothing in the liner notes that mentions this though. The differences are pretty minor so it's fine with me and like I said they sound great. The cds are a little different than the dvd audios and sound like the original albums.

So anyway, since I was on a Doors kick, I picked up the blu-ray called Feast Of Friends which is footage from a movie Jim and Ray were working on in 1967 and 1968. There's a lot of backstage footage and just the guys hanging out footage that is really fascinating. With all of the famous drunken Jim episodes getting so much press, it was pretty cool just to see Jim hanging out being a regualr guy. I've never really seen anything like it, he seemed so normal. :) There's also a concert included on this blu-ray. There is also some footage from their shows in 67 and 68 and the shows were pretty crazy (the crowd was crazy) as you could hardly find the Doors from all the police on stage. As far as movies go, Feast Of Friends really is not much of a movie but if you're a fan of The Doors, you'll like it.

I get chills every time I read that part in The Stand where
Frannie or Stu talk about meeting the ghost of Morrison at a gas station. Maybe it was Stu since he worked at Hap's Texaco. Man, I can't wait for our group read and discussion.
Joe, did you like Val Kilmer's portrayal of JM?

Action packed! Hear me? Action packed!

Thanks for sharing this, never heard it. It makes me think of a 1950s secret barn dance held at night with hooch and people drinking moonshine from jelly jars, cicadas screaming and everyone barefoot. Girls with shirts knotted at the midriff and guys with dark pit stains. A smoke haze hangs against bare bulbs while a live band plays "Tallahassee Lassie" and "C'est La Vie" as the floor boards throb and knock.

Yes. I just put the video and the smilie in the same reply box. It turned it into two posts. I've never had that happen before. I guess I must have done something wrong....
It could just be a glitch, it's hard to know? Also if you were posting from your mobile, I sometimes think that the "Quote" button is easily hit by mistake. (I'm still re-learning things here)

Why did it quote me? Weird. It could have just posted the video and my "comment" together, right???
it?

U2-Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) :) I haven't changed it from Kids Christmas Pandora (son was listening to that last night--lol)

Technically speaking, only Bono(Paul Hewson) and Larry mullen jnr are Irish born. The EDge(dave evans) and adam clayton were born in engalnd, moved to Ireland when they were kids. Ireland is divided in being u2 fans and those that hate them.
