This got me thinking. I wish King would do a poll again. Remember the one with Doctor Sleep and the other piece? Nonbinding, just for fun.
Also, he should offer to write a short story based on two sentences supplied by one of the forum members (I say two sentences because I liked that thing we did before with the two-sentence short-story thread). No new members can enter to do it, it wouldn't be publicized (although word would spread fast), and it should be done just by very well-known members. In fact, the moderators who have gotten to know people over a long period of time could choose, say, twenty or thirty people to enter the two-sentence competition. That would exclude someone like me, who isn't wholly active here, but that would be okay, I'm not biased -- to just give an open call would be ridiculous in terms of the amount of entries, just completely unmanageable. Then the story could be sold online and the proceeds could go to charity.
Obviously, that won't happen. Just an idea that popped into my head that I thought I would write out. The first thing with the poll could indeed happen because it has happened. He could do that just to see what people think -- again, like the last time (if I recall), it would be completely nonbinding and simply serve as a bit of publicity for upcoming projects.
And by the way, here's a fantasy poll I would love to see (get ready, it's good):
Poll, what should I work on next? A novella sequel to IT (yep, one of the eggs survived, folks), or a screenplay for the next Creepshow...
