In the preface to the novel, King lists a number of people who have written books--John Dean, Henry Kissinger etc--and includes among them "A Victorian gentleman" and "Dr X"
It's bothered me ever since I've read the book, wondering who/what King is referring to here. Anyone have any ideas?
