1) Should I follow my boss to a different, progressive school, or stay where I am and take over 3/4 of her current job? Do I decide by pay, working conditions, or commute time?
2) What the hell am I thinking, going back to school at my age?
3) I can't believe I'm feeling snackish after the dinner I had.
4) My butt hurts. Tailbone breaks are for the birds.
5) Why do people stay with someone who hurts them? (The daughters and I just finished Big Little Lies)

All thoughts at once, and kind of mixed up :) I think it's time to toddle off to bedlington!

1) Should I follow my boss to a different, progressive school, or stay where I am and take over 3/4 of her current job? Do I decide by pay, working conditions, or commute time? Hmm - that's a hard one - better pay is always a plus, more responsibility is an opportunity to rise to the challenge - I know what I'd do! What did you decide?
2) What the hell am I thinking, going back to school at my age? I'm thinking you are amazing!
3) I can't believe I'm feeling snackish after the dinner I had. Damn hormones!
4) My butt hurts. Tailbone breaks are for the birds. Yes they are - it took mine forever to heal. I fell in the shower when I was pregnant with my youngest. All that water and baby inside me must have kept everything in place - I didn't know I'd broken my tail bone until after she was born - when she was out, my tailbone was in agony. It bothered me for a couple of years.
5) Why do people stay with someone who hurts them? (The daughters and I just finished Big Little Lies) That was a great series! I hated to see it end. And that's a good question. I think in this situation it was all about the facade "We're beautiful, we're happy, watch us be perfect - bask in our glamour". "The higher you climb, the harder you fall" - I meet them all the time in my town. This series was a good lesson for me to not believe it and realize we're all fighting a battle of some kind. I think cat in a bag read this book before the series came out. I've been meaning to ask if the author is worth reading more of. I really liked the series.
6)I'm not looking - closing my eyes.

I did read the book just before the series. I liked it, there were differences of course. I felt like the
abuse scenes in the book were more brutal, maybe just because I was seeing it in my head, you know? And the relationships between the women were tighter, I felt...and the differences wider. All in all though I thought the series did a good job.

I have a few more of her books but have not read them yet. I think do1you9love? said she likes her, too!

Yes, it was me! I agree with all you said about the series. The author's name is Liane Moriarty (like, yes Sherlock Holmes' nemesis!) She does an amazing job of writing believable characters and their relationships with each other. Big Little Lies was very good, but I think my favorites of her books are What Alice Forgot - a 30 something go-getter falls off her bike at spin class and wakes up thinking she's her newly married, pregnant 20 something self, losing the last 10 years, and The Husband's Secret - a women accidentally finds a letter from her husband that says to open in event of his death.
