Most of the songs by the doors were purportedly wriitten by jim, except light my fire. When he was in concert he liked a riot, he was an anacharist(sorry) played mind games and i can't decide if he was insecure for lack of fatherly love or just seeked attention.

The lyrics in this are great, I've never heard it before now. Very nice...
Glad you enjoyed it, and I thought I'd share this strange Ka-incidence.
I've liked Warren Zevon for a long time, but I only posted "Searching For A Heart" on this thread after my I-pod on shuffle, played it today and reminded me how good Don Henley's cover is.
I had also just posted on the "What Are You Reading" thread, that I was about to venture into Dr Sleep for the first time. So I open the book and on the dedication page is;

When I was playing my primitive brand of rhythm guitar with a group called the Rock Bottom Remainders, Warren Zevon used to gig with us. Warren loved gray t-shirts and movies like Kingdom of the Spiders.
He insisted I sing lead on his signature tune, 'Werewolves of London', during the encore portion of our shows. I said I was not worthy. He insisted that I was. 'Key of G', Warren told me, 'and howl like you mean it. Most important of all, play like Keith.'
I'll never be able to play like Keith Richards, but I always did my best, and with Warren beside me, matching me note for note and laughing his fool head off, I always had a blast.
Warren, this howl is for you, wherever you are. I miss you, buddy.

Before last night I never knew that SK even liked Warren Zevon, let alone had him as a friend and band mate, and dedicated Dr Sleep to him!
Seems Ka really is a wheel!

I read the book a few years ago and SK has a few passages in the book. The book is an autobiography told in an interview style (I'm not sure if there is another term for that) where the people that knew him tell stories in their own words. SKs parts are towards the end. It's a good book and a pretty wild ride.

I discovered Warren Zevon in the late 70s with the Excitable Boy album, instantly fell in love, shared him with my friends. I haven't followed him closely since, which is a habit, perhaps bad, I have with an artist part of whom's work I love. I think I believe nothing will ever be as good again, or maybe the same. I mean, how could anything ever be greater than "Lawyers, Guns, and Money"?

Quite a while back I found a video of the Rock Bottom Remainders which featured Zevon. I'm pretty sure I posted it here in some thread or other. I loved Warren Zevon and miss him.
