Was Blaze really talking to George (after George died) or was George just the voice of his pre-accident intellect? Blaze was proving to be quite impressive before his father threw him down the stairs and dented his head. It seems like that was what helped Blaze to intuit some of his mistakes and how to take care of a young baby. But in some of the backstory there was a part where Blaze knew George had needed to see a dentist. Blaze knew without being told. This was a small amount of shine, right?

But Ghost George was also able to communicate to Blaze when the police were closing in and how much time he had before they arrived. I guess it would be easier to believe his shine was giving him awareness of the approaching police and spoke to him as a figment of his imagination. But I got to wondering if Blaze was actually communicating with George in the afterlife somehow. I really liked this book.

....I would say it's a little of both....draw a parallel with him and Tom Cullen......Tom had a special ability and "talked" with Nick......
