Good film yes, sticks well to the novella with addition of side plots and great new scenes to allow 90 pages to go on for about 2 1/2 hours

One of the best movies out there - we travelled to Ohio back in 2014 to visit the prison where it was filmed.

Recently watched this for the first time in ages and forgot just how flaming brilliant it is.

I'll never understand how this didn't do better at the box office, everything about it was superb, the cast, the performances, script, cinematography, music and still it was a commercial failure. I suppose it happened to a lot of the great films over the years, they flop at the box office and years later they're hailed as masterpieces. The mind boggles.
