I really wish I could remember who I lifted the pic I use for my avatar from. I would really love to thank them for it, big-big! I know I did when I 'borrowed' it, but it's brought me so much joy using it here- I just love the cat's expression!
I saw your pic on-line once while searching for a picture to post - I immediately thought of you! (that cat's expression is great!)

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. :biglove:
I forgot to get back to you yesterday about this, I was in a hurry when I posted that message and was trying to say that whenever I see you (and of course it's your avatar that I'm seeing) a little phrase--something like 'oh there goes Stephen's #1 fan' (minus the Misery connotation)--pops into my head.
It's the collections and the general knowledge and... I just think you're right up there, that's all. :)

......you hope that someday you will actually have the chance to meet and shake the hand of the man that has brought you so much joy (and terror) into your life over these oh-so-many years.
I've never had the opportunity to meet him. But in so many ways he speaks to us through his stories, probably on a deeper level than at an autograph session or such could ever be.

Oh, luv, I got that! My reply was so dripping with sarcasm that you would've needed a bucket to get it all. I knew exactly what you meant. It's all good!

Was up on the roof this weekend turn and see a kid making his/her (could not tell, all bundled up) way down the street, watch as they pause by the corner where the exposed sewer is visible...village sno-go had made a pass. The kid steps back and cocks almost sideways, looking into the sewer and I yell, don't do it! They all float down there! Kid turned and looked at me...looked back at the sewer opening in the now-exposed curb...and runs. I'm waiting for the authorities to stop.

I've missed out on that...wife and I tried like...all get out to have kids. No luck. Me again. But there was this once, I'm telling the neighbor kids a story about...I think I called him Buford...they're listening, right, and I point off across the corn field and lo and behold, lo and behold...some dude is out there walking through the corn, a backpack on his shoulders. Realism? Oh, you bet. The farmer's corn was safe.

Every time you fire a weapon, you silently tell yourself,
“I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father
I aim with my eye." Then a quick smile, and a silent thanks to Roland as the round passes thru center mass of the target.

Walter, don't stress over it...really don't. The reality of it is about 5% glittery Hallmark (compared to 50%Expected), 90% more expensive, and 15% giggle return (compared with 45% expected)..truely. It isn't widely discussed, but raising kids is often heart breaking, demanding, and difficult as hell. I feel like a constant screw up, my kid really doesn't have a clue or care about preparing for the real world (4 years till college!), and the world has teeth.. My point, grass may look greener sometimes, but relish what you've got. You can always mentor someone or teach something you enjoy... really that would be ideal.

You are a SHCR if you get so emotionally involved in one of his books that when you realize he is about to kill off one of your favorite characters, you put the book down and write him a 3 page letter screaming "Why!" Only to end it saying he is the best writer in the world for it to have effected me so deeply.
