When Kontz revised Icebound he added alot of new words- the original is about half the size of the revised edition. I like the original better. It's kind of king related in the sense that everyone seems to insist that he is king's rival/nemesis - I just picked up icebound by dean koontz. Apparently he wrote it under a pseudonym in the 70s and revised it in 95. It's the first koontz book I've ever bought (although I was once given a disc with about 30 ebooks of his for my kobo - haven't gotten around to reading any yet though). It was £1 from my local cancer charity shop.

I'm so jealous, I loved that book.Recently purchased 11/22/63---now about halfway through and am lovin' it. Somehow I just can't critize any of SK's writing.
I only bought it to give him a try, the synopsis on the back of the book sounded a bit like an old X-Files episode I vaguely remember. As for original vs revised, I have the advantage of not having anything to compare the newerWhen Kontz revised Icebound he added alot of new words- the original is about half the size of the revised edition. Koontz, my friend, Koontz haha
Yes, I know it's Koontz, I've been having trouble on the SKMB lately- when I am posting or replying to something some of the letters are getting dropped. You should have seen my post before I corrected it! It was half the length it was before (that's what she said!). I have updated my browser so hopefully it won't be a problem now.Koontz, my friend, Koontz haha
Jojo, those aren't really too hard to find. I just hope you didn't overpay for them.
John
I posted a question in misc.Welcome to the site, Leafy... good to have you here. I love On Writing, one of my favourites.
I'll buy it in english. Have no trust in translators when it comes to King.Yesterday I found out that Revival will be translated this year to Swedish and are released same day as in US. The Swedish title is Väckelsen.
I will buy it when it comes out in November.
E readers have mostly all got "e-ink" which has been developed to replicate ink on a page as closely as possible, and most aren't back lit. Some have leds at the bottom to "up light" them as an option. They are not the same as the real thing but they are good.I'm sorry, but I can't handle e-books. I don't like them, I'll never like them; the white light from the computer screen gives me a headache.
