Couple of great old matching HBs of D.H.Lawrence, Sons and Lovers and (blush) Lady Chatterbox herself. Looks like part of a set, no jackets or print dates. Haven't read either, though, so on the pile they go, along with Chet Baker bio Deep In A Dream.
I liked Sons & Lovers more than Lady Chatterly (though that one is the more famous).

Couple great shape mass market PBs of McTeague, Frank Norris, and Albert Camus' The Plauge.

And an old HB discontinued library copy of Barabbas, biblical novel by Par Lagerkvist. Never heard of him, it seems he's a Swedish master, so...Kurben? What kinda info ya got? Looks like a good 'un, 1951 first edition/translation. Basis for Richard Fleisher's Christ/Sword-n-Sandle epic film of the same name, starring a badass Anthony Quinn--great flick, BTW.

My TBR stack has snow gathered at its topmost peak. Sometimes can't see it for the clouds. Zounds, I've some reading to do. Howabout you?

1968 PB of True Grit--one of the only westerns I've really enjoyed :) Someday I'll happen upon a HB copy, but for now this will do. I also got a TPB copy of Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Angel's Game (I've read that, but from the library) and a brand new, never been opened copy of James McBride's Song Yet Sung. Oh books, how I love thee (and now I need another book shelf. Have no idea where I'll put it, since I already have books in every room but one bathroom. The small bathroom has a selection of Calvin & Hobbes, Bloom County, and trivia books--lol). Maybe a bigger bookcase in my bedroom...hmmm...

I keep forgetting to look at thriftbooks.com! Going there now, before my peabrain spits it out again :D
Please be sure to set up an account (if you haven't already) and then make your 'wish' list! I have 78 items on mine and they send out emails when they get copies in. I've scored so many times here for hard-to-find books!! I just ordered a hardback copy of The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread and that is one rare book to find! Make sure you look for the icons denoting if it's an ex-library copy or doesn't have a dust jacket. Free shipping on orders over $10!

Today I came home with unread ARC's of The Troop and The Deep both by 'Nick Cutter' (figure if 'he' ever becomes a big author they might be worth something later on, right?) and The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Found all three at Value Village for $1.99 each! Someone dropped off a TON of ARC's there, but. alas, there were none by King, Hill, etc.
