You know, a friend loaned me the first three of the Outlander series, but since I've been reading the Dark Tower for over a year, I just haven't started. Maybe that'll be what's after DT.
Sai King is really the only "horror" writer I am into, and that's because his writing is really oh so much more than that.
I like writers who make me laugh: Fannie Flag and Marian Keyes are the first that come to mind. I still read kids books too: Rebecca Stead is pretty great - When You Reach Me was amazing.
Short stories are really my favorite flavor of book. I try to pick up Best American Short Stories (Mr. King edited one of those a while back), O'Henry's, Best Stories of the South, whatever collection I can get my hands on, annually.
