I was working in the shoe department at Belk last year. It never failed that if I was closing with one certain manager, some crackpot would show up fic=ve minutes before closing, and want to try on every shoe in the store. One night, as the manager made the five minutes until closing announcement, this guy runs into the shoe department yelling that he has to buy new shoes right then. He had torn the sole off his shoe, and had to find the exact same kind.So many years in retail...so many whackjobs! The first one who comes to mind is a grumpy old codger I wished to "Have a nice day!" He turned around and barked at me, "Don't you dare tell me what to do!" and stomped out!
While I brought out the shoes for him to try, I got to hear the story of how his shoes had saved his life once, and he would only wear that particular brand..... I swear, you can't make this stuff up
