Yesterday I had some green fish and carrots after reading the thread in the Ka-Tet Indicant...thought the fish looked a bit undercooked...blue hake...but it all came out in the wash and I flushed 'er down! :eagerness: But yeah, you don't read too much about food kills. Maybe it's too iffy. Where ya been! :)

was out the other day commenting on how Gordon Ramsay accused one of his sub-chefs of presenting under-cooked chicken which could have killed the person who ate it.

so why aren't there more stories about the murder weapon being under-cooked chicken, eggs, or fish?
Maybe because the chef always samples what's cooking?

Dangerous Food Safety Mistakes
Sometimes a simple mistake can have grave consequences. What may seem like a small food safety mistake can cause serious illness with long-term consequences.

When it comes to some germs, such as Salmonella, all it takes is 15 to 20 cells in undercooked food to cause food poisoning. And just a tiny taste of food with botulism toxin can cause paralysis and even death.

Here are some common food safety mistakes that have been proven to cause serious illness.

Mistake #1: Tasting food to see if it’s still good
Why: You can’t taste (or smell or see) the bacteria that cause food poisoning. Tasting only a tiny amount can cause serious illness.

so there's all sorts of stories about poisoning food to kill someone, even people hired to do nothing more than eat before someone else to see if they die. why not natural food poisoning? because the chef would get nailed? could be made to look like an accident, I would think...

Under cooked food is much more likely to make a person very sick then it is to kill them.

And how can you be sure the food is contaminated? About 25% of chickens are contaminated with salmonella and about 50% are contaminated with Campylobacteriosis. So even assuming no chickens are contaminated with both, that lease 25% of chickens that won't make you sick even if undercooked.

(I do not guarantee the accuracy of this post. I googled.)

This thread reminds me of a tv episode of Alfred Hitchcock, I think it was. The wife murdered her husband with a frozen roast, then cooked it and served to the detectives. I guess frozen would definitely count as undercooked, wouldn't you say?
This post reminds me of something off-topic. I think a character in some novel killed someone with a gun which fired bullets of ice, making the gun impossible to trace and the murder weapon impossible to identify.
