That's cool. I missed my chance to see AIC back in 1993 or 94. They opened for Ozzy Osbourne in Lampe, Missouri. My dumb assed roommate was late getting home for some reason so we were very late arriving at the event. As we got out of my truck, we could hear "Man in the Box", which turned out was their encore song. We got into the concert right as they finished up. Not sure if I've ever been that pissed off before or since. Ozzy was awesome, but I had bought tickets to see AIC, so it was a quiet drive home..lol
Oh, man. I had a similar experience in Norway with Queensryche. They were opening for Metallica, and of course I wanted to see Metallica, but I bought the ticket to see Geoff Tate live. We had rented a big bus, and the bus driver got lost...we were late... I ran into the venue, just to hear Geoff Tate sing his last note, and say "thank you very much, and good bye". I will never forget that feeling. And I did not enjoy Metallica after that.
I assume the two Procol Harum CDs considered by most to be the best are Shine On Brightly and A Salty Dog, though my personal favorite is Home. I suggest you start with A Salty Dog because Shine On Brightly is a bit unusual in that one side consists mostly of a kind of opera. Here's one of my favorites from Dog (best played LOUD, of course :) )…
Bummer, it is not on my streaming service. But I will look on youtube, I am sure I can find it there. Thank you! :)
Pink Floyd are the bar setters for me, and no body else can reach it. My top 3 Floyd songs are (in no order) Marooned, High Hopes and Coming Back To Life.

I used to listen to Rammstein when I was a bit younger, my favourite song is probably Du Hast or Ich Will. Pussy was good too, especially the video :)
Pussy was a funny video. Not so funny to explain it to my boss, who (of course) knew that I am a big fan. He called me to his office and said something like "Hrmm. Hrmm. What is this I hear about Rammstein? Is that stuff about the new video true?" I had to explain to him that yes, it is pornographic. In a humorous way.:big_grin:
If I had to put him into a category, I would have to classify it as Experimental Weird (for the times). If you want to check him out start with the album Trout Mask Replica (1969)
Thank you!

I am getting so many good tips for "new" bands to listen to. That was my hope when I started the thread. That, and to discuss different artists and bands, of course!

BTW: I also have a few albums that I have to have available at all times, they are kind of security blankets:
Dire Straits - Making Movies
Paul Simon - Hearts and Bones
Bob Dylan - Infidels

I forgot The Clash on my list. When they were active, I used to listen to them constantly. I was in high school and one of my friends got the import (remember those) of their first album. We wore that import out. Finally, the US saw the light and released their next album in the US. There are two excellent documentaries on Joe Strummer floating around (can't remember the names) and it is so sad to see how forgotten he was towards the end of his life. He was a super nice guy that could sing with more venom than almost anyone.

My list would end up a mile long if I wrote all my favorites. As for today's music - I listen to the radio a lot, and I often hear stuff I like. I even like some Britney and Skrillex. They are my guilty pleasures. :listening_headphones::bashful:
On my daily playlists (background music) I have a lot of stuff from top 100. My favorites I need to hear properly, and I play those when I relax, travel or drive my car.
