@DiO'Bolic - Frank Zappa was very strange indeed, and I can appreceate humor in rock music, but I just can't listen to him for too long. Credit to him though, he was a phenomenal guitarist and very creative, he also had a fantastic ability to understand different types of music almost instantly.

Definitely an acquired taste. Saw Zappa a couple of times in concert. His guitar playing was phenomenal.

Good List. Counted 9 from your list that I saw in concert, and 1/4 of the Beatles (Harrison).

Heart of the South
Big Head Todd & the Monsters (just give 'em a try)
Pink Floyd
Led Zepplin
Dire Straights
Pearl Jam (Eddie Vedder's voice just soothes me so)
Van Morrison (crazy drunk!)
Dave Matthews Band (prefer the pre-2001 stuff though)

And then on the other side of my brain I like:
Donna Summer
The BeeGees
Don't be hatin' - I grew up roller skating to Disco

Imagine Dragons--I've seen them twice and their bass guitarist gave me his pick! He actually stepped off the stage, onto one of the speakers, leaned over the rail, and handed ti to me! I also love Foster the People--seen them once. My other favorites are Grouplove and Cage the Elephant and I'm seeing them both this week. I'm kind of a concert junkie; this will be my fifth this year...and trust me, if I had more money I'd go to many more.

For me it's a fluid situation. I had different favourite books, movies, songs etc 20 years ago, and expect to change my preferences somewhat over the coming 20 years - although perhaps to a lesser extent than I did from age 19 to 39. That said, there are a few bands/artists that have a permanent place on my top 10 list, for instance Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Cure, Elvis Presley and The Beatles. While I'm at it, let me add a couple of individual songs: I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers, and Fairytale of New York by The Pogues.

Lately I have discovered the wonderful Russian guitarist Igor Presnyakov, and Swedish singer Veronica Maggio, who despite singing only (?) in Swedish seems to have found an international audience.
