If I had to put him into a category, I would have to classify it as Experimental Weird (for the times). If you want to check him out start with the album Trout Mask Replica (1969)

Well catergorised Dio'Bolic, "Experimental Weird" sums up the music of Capt Beefheart (Don van Vliet) pretty well in my opinion.

Love his vocals on the track "Willie The Pimp" from the Frank Zappa "Hot Rats" album, awesome peformance.

Hello all. I have searched for a thread about this topic, if I have missed it - feel free to delete this one!

My favorite band is Rammstein - I have seen them live many times, and also met them. For some reason, no other music have the same effect on me.
I also love:
Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler
Ramones
Jack White
White Stripes
+ a lot of old school rock/metal/pop
I just love music!
How about you? What are your favorites?

Wow you just described my musical taste :D

LOVE Rammstein, seen them live twice now, and growing up I had a Mark Knopfler poster in my room (And I also saw Dire Straits live in Rotterdam). My favourite band is De Heideroosjes (Sadly, they stopped playing a year ago) who were heavily influenced by The Ramones. Other then that I like Metallica (Going to see them again this summer at Pinkpop!), Korn, Disturbed. I also like Eminem/Dre/50 cent every once in a while (Listen to Rhyme or Reason or Rap God if you can find them!).

Also, growing up with my hippy parents: Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, the Moody Blues.

AND because of my Italian father: Pino Daniele :D

One hell of a question, my all time fav's obviously the great Led Zeppelin.
But I also get off on;
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Pink Floyd, Ten Years After, Moody Blues, Barclay James Harvest, Steeleye Span, Roy Harper, Taste, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin, The Band, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tina Turner, Robert Plant, Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge, Green Day, Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Crowes, Metallica, Bonnie Raitt, Tom Petty, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Slash,Willie Dixon, Black Star Riders, Black Country Communion and loads more.

Currently heavily into all of Joe Bonamassa's catalogue, but especially his collaborations with Beth Hart, what a voice that woman has.:listening_headphones:

Well you did ask!;)

It is great to see that so many of you also have favorites in so many genres. I don't fit in with most people when it comes to music, books and movies, but in here it looks like there are many people like me :)
I also listen to rap, especially Eminem. I really hope I will get a chance to see him live!

did this work -- yes, it did!
Thank you! :)

I am trying to catch up with back posts, you all list so many wonderful bands and artists.

I can not go one day without music, and I always choose music depending on my mood. Aggressive music if I am stressed out, it helps me calm down. And I love discovering new bands, and rediscovering my old favorites.

For a few weeks now, I have listened a lot to Judas Priest, I had forgotten just how great they are.

If I didn't have my iPod and my streaming service, my life would be miserable.

I love music and like loads of bands and artists.
My favourite artists are and always will be Elvis Presley & Billy Fury followed by Bobby Darin, Johnny Burnette, Conway Twitty, Brenda Lee, Helen Shapiro, Mary Gautier and many, many more.
I guess I'd have to say that for me, the best British band are Queen and my favourite American artists are Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.
