I'm getting very tired of
the kills on this show. It's like they think they can't have more than one black man on at a time. Gabriel must be going to die, because Morgan is coming back (however briefly)
VERY unhappy SkiMom here.

Carol
is batshit crazy--the way she acts is over the top and unrealistic, and it frustrates me. I'm beginning to want her to die. Gabriel is just as awful as he began. Eugene found his missing spine. And I cried when Glenn did. Strong episode (narratively), but I didn't like it much at all.
I couldn't disagree more. Why does it have to be about race? Nobody cried foul when all those white folks got killed off. Are they going to ax Glenn so they can bring in another Asian? I don't think color's got anything to do with it, honestly.

Following with Mr. Nobody's thoughts

I think there is some kind of a use going on in the hairdresser's family. But I also do not believe she's a victim. A victim of spousal abuse does not have such confidence and flirt right in front of her abuser. (Ya...he was in the next room and walked in. But she didn't seem the least bit worried.)

I had been thinking maybe Deanna was controlling who is in a relationship with whom and it was an arranged relationship. But the mother/wife as abuser actually fits better.

Regarding how Carol spoke to the kid

If his parents are verbally abusive, speaking to him like that probably would work better than anything else. If he is accustomed to obeying out of fear, then being mean and threatening are more likely to work than being sweet.
And Carol recognized that dynamic, having been in an abusive relationship herself.

Carol's crazy, all right. Crazy like a fox.

I agree about Jim. For the teeny tiny part he played, he made a huge impact on me--I find myself thinking about that character a lot. You know he's out there as a walker (remember, he wouldn't take the gun). Interesting if they ran into him again. And now I want to look up that actor and see what else he's done, because he has quite a 'presence'.

I wondered if they would run into him again too! :)
