I think hardcover Salem's Lot might be rare (??) but I am not the expert here.

Just nice that your son was thinking of you! :smile-new::joyous::thumbs_up:

Goodwill finds; Koko by Peter Straub (hardcover book club edition, only book in this trilogy that I was missing... Now I REALLY need to buckle-down and read these three books. Haven't read any non-SK fiction in a while). Carrie (2007 paperback, my first copy of the book, haven't read this one yet.)

I read Koko many years ago - a difficult book for me to get through. I didn't realize it was part of a trilogy. Thanks for the info!

Yesterday I went to the used book place I was told about. The 1000's of books turned out to be about 200 and most of them
were children's books. Did get two books by Bentley Little called 'The Town' and 'The House'. Brand new hardcovers;
$1.99 each. On the front they both have the quote 'A Master of the macabre - Stephen King'. They also had postcards and I found
8 beautiful ones of Alaska in mint condition for 7cents each. The bookstore was a disappointment but I had a chance to see
West Kelowna which was a first for me. Took 6 buses to get there and back but it was worth it.
This is also what usually happens to me when someone I know tells me there's a bookstore with thousands of books.

I notice Dave Grohl has a biography out. I bought it while I bought Finders Keepers. I'd like to see that new movie about Kurt Cobain as well.

Didn't know there was a movie out on Kurt Cobain. Would watch it; but not pay to watch it. Have to come out on TV eventually.
Aerosmith are in Kelowna, B.C. on 13th July -- one night only. They are performing at Prospero Place;a venue that seats only
6,000; so it would be up close and personal.

So while I'm not the one that scored on this, I just had to share: A co-worker went to a neighborhood yard sale and came across a First Edition hardback of 'Salem's Lot that is a true 1st printing and paid freaking 50 cents for it! The dj is missing a few pieces here and there and the spine is a little faded but the book itself is almost like new with no dog-eared pages or writings or marking inside! She told me about it a couple of days ago and I asked her to bring it in to work when she could so I could see it. I would've paid $100 for this one! It's beautiful! Man, I'm gonna have to start hitting up yard sales now!!!

Okay, NONE of the books my son got me were worth anything, but that's okay. I needed them for my collection. And he went back to get The Stand, but it was gone.
I can never leave a copy of The Stand or It, even though I have more than 1 of each, I must not leave it .

Went to Value Village today; no SK books (hardcover) but many, many paperbacks. Did get 4 John Grisham
hardcovers and a hardcover of Lasher by Anne Rice. For 'fun' reading I bought Steven Tyler's biography in
hardcover.
Great score!!! Have you found The Witching Hour yet?

:swoon: Is she going to sell it to you or is she a collector too?

No, she isn't going to let me have it. I am quite jealous tho! She's a King fan, hasn't read all of his books but she has read most of them. I told her she 'did real good' finding that book. So, she'll keep that book in her collection and that's the way it should be when we find a great score like that! =D

If I EVER saw a copy of The Stand or It; I would not leave it behind. But, still have 3 more used book stores to find
in Kelowna so I keep hoping for the first 'The Stand'.

No; haven't found 'The Witching Hour' or 'Taltos'. Surprised when I saw the HC of Lasher; they had 2 oversized softcovers
of it as well. I've been to two used book stores this week and both have had very few books of Anne Rice.

I snapped up an almost perfect HB CARRIE yesterday for $1.99...then got it home and realized it's a BCE. :( I have a 1st ed HB with a crappy cover already. I don't really need two. Poop. They also had 2 complete sets of the PB GREEN MILE, but I couldn't decide whether I needed the individuals when I have a 'novel' copy. Might go back today.
