Gout (Gouty Arthritis): Symptoms, Treatment, Causes, & More
Maybe uric acid? My brother in law had a bad case of gout in the 70s.I know it isn't but in can cause infection to come easier obviously. At least what my doctor said. I got some pills today to keep my something acid on the right level. I take so many pills already....
That might be it. I have only been in pain that time and it lasted perhaps 4 days and then it was ok and havent felt anything since so i'm hoping it was onetimer.Maybe uric acid? My brother in law had a bad case of gout in the 70s.
I think it has something to do with crystals - I dunno - I am no medical expert. I just know that it is supposed to be quite painful. That might be it. I have only been in pain that time and it lasted perhaps 4 days and then it was ok and havent felt anything since so i'm hoping it was onetimer.
Doesn't eating rich foods have something to do with it? Henry the VIII had gout.I think it has something to do with crystals - I dunno - I am no medical expert. I just know that it is supposed to be quite painful.
So this is why it is called "the King's disease" - sounds like a disease that fits in here (on this board).Doesn't eating rich foods have something to do with it? Henry the VIII had gout.
Peter Noone had gout? Whatdya know.Doesn't eating rich foods have something to do with it? Henry the VIII had gout.
Yeah, it can contribute. I remember getting a paper that basically said, "Limit beef, beer, and bacon (Nitrates in bacon & other processed foods are supposed to be limited)"--my husband said, "Why live?" joking, of course, but it was hard at first. Spinach was another biggie to watch--can't remember why. Getting the garbage food out of my diet worked wonders for me.Doesn't eating rich foods have something to do with it? Henry the VIII had gout.
Spinach? That seems an odd one. Yes, my granddad got gout once and I guess it was horrifically painful. Of course, he was a typical man who thought everything that happened to him was horrifically painful, so not sure in the scheme of things how much of a ouch it is.Yeah, it can contribute. Then i'm toast!!! I love beef! I love beer and i like bacon, and onion rings and sauces. I can't change who i am!!! But i probably eat more pork than beef. Is it a difference goutwise?Yeah, it can contribute. Stay away from red meat, sugary drinks, beer....? I'm with skimoms hubby here. Why live?Stay away from scallops, herring, beer, red meat, turkey, sugary drinks, asparagus, liver, according to a health web site I was just reading.

Just look up which foods have 'purine' in them. And it is only when you are undergoing an "attack" that these foods make it worse, apparently. I think you should be able to have these foods, only in moderation.Stay away from red meat, sugary drinks, beer....? I'm with skimoms hubby here. Why live?
Horrible. Seriously. And I'm a Trojan when it comes to pain (lol).Spinach? That seems an odd one. Yes, my granddad got gout once and I guess it was horrifically painful. yikes!Horrible. Seriously. And I'm a Trojan when it comes to pain (lol).
At least little positive... But you know... me and eating things in moderation have never really gone well together. I suck at resisting temptations and beer and beef are two of them.Just look up which foods have 'purine' in them.
