Hi!

Just time to say hello and then I have to get into work early today.

I hope all are well - Andy is here for one more day and then goes back up to Nunavut.

Finished reading "The Shining" again last night (about 38 - 40 years after reading it the first time!) - wow - quite different from the movie, that is for sure!

Love and green lights to all - hope your summer is going very well :tounge::jammin:

Hi Neesy. Good to see you. Enjoy the last day with Andy! Safe travel for him back to Nunavut.

Happy fourth Monday, Y'all!!

My favorite massage therapist quit working at the salon two weeks ago. Now, my back is killing me, and I'm kinda scared of the new one......because he's a guy. I don't think I'm ready for a male massage therapist. Would it be wrong to continue going to my old one at her new location?

I think you should go with the one that you feel comfortable with. :)

There is nothing wrong with you staying with your old massage therapist.

This reminds me of the "It Moved" episode of Seinfeld......

Nothing wrong with that but I'd suggest you give the male massage therapist at least one session to see if he can put your fears at rest. I've been going to a male massage therapist for a very long time now (he's also the one who trained me when I got my LMT license) and prefer him over some of the females I've been to in part because he is able to do more therapeutic techniques due to his body strength. Male therapists have a lot to overcome from both male and female clients--a lot of males don't want to be "touched" by another male even if they're not otherwise homophobic and females can be offput because of body image, husbands/boyfriends who don't want another man touching "their" woman, or their own concerns about sexual impropriety so it can be really hard for them to build up a clientele.

Thanks, Y'all. This is what I'm going to do.

Normally, I'm all about encouraging newcomers to the salon, and believe in doing business with my co workers whenever possible.
We have two other massage therapists, I'm just not comfortable with a male therapist......and I when I tried the other lady, she just isn't strong enough to get the kinks out of my back and shoulders. I don't want to pay for massage therapy when I don't feel any better after the session. I'm calling my old massage therapist this afternoon.....

That's a very good point. I did think about the possibility that he might have difficulty getting new clients because he's a guy....that, and I really do like to keep business in the salon, if possible.....I just feel like everyone benefits if the clients can receive all their services at the same location. One of my male co workers tried out the new male therapist, and he was very impressed. I need deep tissue therapy, because standing in one spot all day with my arms at shoulder level is killer in the lower back and shoulder blades.
My issues are all my own, dreamed up in my own head......I have the least jealous BF in the world.....he's fine, as long as I don't ask him to get a massage! Maybe I'll talk to our new guy and see if he can do a half session as a trial.

Good idea! He can concentrate on your trouble spots and you wouldn't be out the money for a full session if you're not happy with him. Will be curious to hear your feedback.

I have somewhat the same issues. Whether a male or female is effective with me - and I prefer a female, and no, I'm not "homophobic" (from a literal sense, I'm not fond of that term) - it just doesn't matter unless I develop a comfort with them for reasons that I can't specify. I'm just either comfortable with them or not. I have somewhat of an aversion to touch, and it used to be a lot more pronounced, and some people just make me less uncomfortable.

Anyway, long story short (too late!), when I latch on to someone, I tend to follow them. I've had three CMTs with whom I've been comfortable. One, I developed discomfort with over time and started searching again; the next eventually moved out of town; and this third one I'm hoping will hang around for a while because I don't want to have to start filtering through them again.

Good luck.

Popping in for a quick G'Mornin' :) Kid running has reached critical levels: swimming lessons, play stuff, back and forth from the college & work for the girls--every public area of my house looks like it was bombed, we haven't eaten a normal, healthy dinner in days, and I'm eating cheetos and coffee for breakfast before I run out again for early college orientation for DD#2. She's freaking out about her plays and because she's getting lots of interest from colleges (including Ivy League) already & she's just a junior. Instead of being glad, she's sick from stress. It's beginning to damage my calm ;)

One fun note from last night's performance: an older gentleman was sitting next to my husband during Macbeth, and at the end asked if he knew the 'little guy' who played MacDuff's son. BH replied that he was ours. Guy then asked about MacDuff: "Ours, too". The guy handed Mark a business card, said he runs a station and has a talk show in the southern part of our state. Said he thought both of the kids were the best in the play, but that Nick is a natural actor--he was surprised a 9 yr old delivered Shakespeare's lines like he was just having a conversation with his mom--and wants to interview him and refer him to an agent (can't tell Sarah that part--she'd be devastated)! That's not on our agenda (lol), but how funny, right? :D

Okay. Off again to at least wash the dishes before the running starts again. Everyone be safe :)

Very cool about the kiddos, you should be very proud as I'm sure you are. I have a question though........

Are you dunking the Cheetos in your coffee?

Happy Thursday!!

Feels strange that I don't have any kind of vacation and I'm just at home. But I should rest now and have fun these couple of
weeks before my new work begin. At least I get paid for these few weeks. So not too bad to just stay home.

Tomorrow after Juho comes home from work we are driving to east Finland to buy a new car for him. We found a elder Volvo that
sounded like a perfect car for him and I can drive it too. He is going to repair the car he have now and sell it soon. Juho's big sister lives
in the town where we pick up the car from, so we stay overnight at hers place and drive home with two cars on Saturday. Going to be a busy weekend. Let's hope we get some time to spend together too.

Finally summer has arrived was 23C yesterday and sunny. Today it's been 19C and cloudy. Fine by me when I am off and get some time
to spend outside.

Have a great day everyone and take care of you and be well. Stay safe too.

I also wish you all a great weekend in advance. I am busy tomorrow and don't get time to stop by.
