P. S. I had a violent tooth and gum ache on most of the right side of my mouth for days after the alumni parade just from chewing a piece of bubble gum left over from the candy thrown from the float. I have a dental appointment on August 12. I am a mess and a wreck who can't even chew gum!

Well, dang. I'm sorry you're having all this trouble. I hope things start getting better soon.

Dropped my cell phone and shattered it today. It had the protector surrounding it and I've dropped it several times before and nothing happened. It hit the cement "just right" - on the bottom corner and it shattered and spread all the way up. I couldn't've done that again if I tried. I had to spend three hours at Verizon - only one employee there. Ended up spending an absurd amount of money for a phone that is a downgrade.

Unfortunately, that's not the worst part. I was talking to the representative about transferring contacts and pictures, I have a picture of my Sadie as a screensaver. I glanced down at my old phone, saw the picture and started bawling - right there in the middle of the store, just out of nowhere! I tried to explain myself, but was so incredibly embarrassed. She was extremely kind about the whole thing, but I gave her a $20 tip when I left (all the cash I had or I probably would've given her more). I am a train wreck.
I'm so sorry, morgan. About the phone, but more so about your continuing heartbreak. I do hope that it continues to ease as time goes by. And I hope you were able to keep the picture. (((morgan)))

So hey everybody, sorry to make this longer than the usual posts. Having a number of issues.

First, the other day when my niece was doing her play, I ran desperately all over town trying to find a memory card for my video camera so she could just take the footage with her, but I couldn't so we shot it on tape. My niece has suggested putting the footage on Google Drive, which I downloaded but have not tried to use yet. If anyone has any advice or suggestions, I would welcome them. I can burn a DVD and mail it but would rather not--it is such an ordeal!

Anyhow, after I went to every store which might have memory cards I went to the last three just to say I'd been to them all. I ran into this guy I knew from college (WWCC) who had then been in town a month. No idea why as so far as I know he is not from here and has not been here before. I was in a tearing hurry but he talked my ear off...I could hardly escape. He's in a small apartment somewhere in the vicinity of the Shell station which he hates and wants a better one. I named Knobloch as being the best, don't know if he's tried them.

So anyhow I've been sidelined with back issues for a week. The only reason I was off my bed of pain today is I become too bored with lying around and desperately needed items at the store. Unfortunately what should happen but that I run into this guy again. He was a little weird in school and if anything is now moreso. Anyhow he pestered me for my phone number. I didn't want to give it to him but finally spelled my last name and told him I was in the book hoping he'd forget it. Ten minutes later he came up claiming to have forgotten my last name and pestered me into writing down it and my phone number. He liked me in school because frankly he was so paranoid he thought almost everyone was out to get him and apparently I didn't put out any "out to get him" vibes...that's it...not good friends.

So I told him truthfully I knew of a place coming vacant but wouldn't recommend to anyone. The tenant is moving only due to ongoing incompetence and general jerkiness on the part of the landlord. The latest is he caused the basement to flood wrecking a lot of the tenants' property. I am happy for the tenant as they've always hated the place, but sorry to lose a good neighbor. So if anyone knows anyplace good in town, please let me know so I can tell my friend. As for other places, do not have to be too good but better than the worst, please also tell me so in case God forbid this other guy calls I can let him know. In both cases they should NOT BE near my home! My friend says she doesn't want to be in this part of town, and as for the other guy, I feel the further off the better.

As for the back pain, I have seen the chiropractor, am on three painkillers and ice packs, have two pain relief devices ordered and a doctor appointment Monday, but welcome suggestions, thanks.

This is the new reality in American retail (thank you, internet).

A while back I went to a Best Buy to get me a cool new 5' flat screen so I could watch my Monty Python videos larger than life. They had a lot of nice TVs and I did see a few clerks hanging around and discussing what I could only assume were matters of divine importance. They certainly didn't seem very concerned about what I might or might not want, and when I finally got the attention of one of them, he cared less about what kind of television I was considering than if he could pawn a Best Buy credit card off on me.

Brick-and-mortar retailers say the internet is killing them, and it is . . . but it's not the only assassin.

I swear, I have the dumbest mail lady ever! She is always delivering packages of mine to other people. She did it again today. She lost my SIL's social security card once also. If she can't do her job right, get someone who can!
I think you have no choice but to complain to your local post office. My neighbors and I have had that problem off and on. Once my tax software didn't arrive. I looked into it and was told it'd been taken to the wrong address, and I was to believe that for some reason it was taken to the door of the person who then said that there was no one there by that name, and that it was consequently sent back to sender. I had to buy software again which I'd already paid for because there wasn't enough time to get my taxes in before replacement software could be delivered to me.

So on July 29 I ordered a product through Amazon.com. Immediately the seller notified me that they weren't sending it as it was out of stock. Their policy is to refund within two business days, so when it went into the next week with no refund I contacted them to ask when they were going to issue the refund. They answered that they never got the payment--that's all done through Amazon. I contacted Amazon which said they don't process payments until the item ships, which this never did, so the bank must have made a charge on my card when I placed the order and was still waiting for them to process it. I contacted the bank, both through the website and by going to a teller in person, and they said it wasn't them, I had to contact Amazon. Amazon issued a refund, but it was for the exact amount of purchase--the amount I had written down when I placed the order. The charge on my card was for $6.05 more! I hadn't purchased anything else at the same time, and it couldn't have been for shipping as a) anything over $35, which this was, ships free, and b) it never shipped anyway! I asked the bank, well, who got the other $6.05? Can't they find what was done? They now say it sounds like fraud on my card so I can't order anything else till I get a new card! I also must call them and before I do, review everything I ordered on Amazon at least for this year, and compare amounts charged which I wrote down to what was actually taken out of my account!

That is enough to make anyone angry.Usually Amazon if you ask for a supervisor and get alittle hot, they will fix it right away. Like before you hang up the phone.

The Best Buy in Tyler Texas has always been on the poor side of customer service, from the first day they opened their doors.

My father passed away two years ago today. We weren't emotionally close and lived thousands of miles away from each other since I was about two years old. Long and sad story. Always thought there would be time to right all of the wrongs.

Just wanted to remind everyone that life is short and if you have unfinished business or unresolved feelings, the time is now. Tomorrow is a gift we don't always have.
