Hi everybody. Whew, weekend at last, eh? Made it, by God. Had a power nap, brewing some Java--time to hit the keys and do some scribbling.

Oh, and I figured I'd fill yez in on my 'pub getting torn down' debacle. Now today someone told me that the feed company that bought it is gonna fix it up all nice and re-open it, not tear it down as I was originally told. I hope that's true, but now I don't know which rumor to believe. Can't see them glory-barners serving devil liquor to the townsfolk, but who knows?

If they DO re-open, I hope they keep the old juke box--an old-school cd machine, still four plays for a buck. All that good, classic rock and roll--lotta Stones, Jimi, Grateful Dead, Thin Lizzy. Stuff like that. Those new-fangled wi-fi jukes are too dang expensive. Go Super-Search and its a buck a song. Bah.

And we still better be able to smoke in the place. Don't even wanna go to a bar if I can't smoke.
Where are you now that you can smoke?

No place ok a few states I am in allow that inside at all.

I don't smoke.

I haven't forgotten about this, but I haven't tried the new massage therapist out yet. The guy keeps coming up with reasons not to start work. He was supposed to start on the 18th, but his fiance broke up with him, and apparently, he's had trouble functioning with life.
He was supposed to come to work on Saturday, but he told our salon manager that he thinks he'll just go to Nashville and write songs for a while, because he feels that will be therapeutic for him.....

I've been rolling my eyes up in my head a lot lately.....
Oh Gawd, the drama...go to Nashville and write songs. My sister in law tried a new massage therapist, he talked the whole time. Nothing worse than a chatty massage. I'm not looking to talk during a massage.

Preparing for Robby Benson Friday......

I think he was the first guy I saw without pants. Anyone remember...
Manpanties!

Going to an informational meeting/group interview for potential writers for a new city magazine today. Nervous as hell. May I ask for good thoughts and green lights?

I'm late to the party, but sounds like you made a great impression! You're a class act, I'm sure you knocked them out!

Is there a way you can contact the owners and as a faithful customer offer suggestions?

The new owners? I wouldn't know where to begin. Well, the grain elevator, I suppose. Buncha corn-fed, Podunk tent revivalists. Or not, hell, I dunno--they might be cool after all.

Not that I spend much time in the joint, but it's nice to know it's there.

If they're actually interested in being financially successful in the rumored attempt to be they might appreciate hearing from someone who could suggest...

You know in Sweden it is forbidden to smoke in bars and restaurants. Was a big debate about it when the decision was made. They said they would lose customers. Turned out the other way. It was a lot of people that stayed away from pubs and restaurants just because of the smoke and the smell. if the tables are outdoors it is ok to smoke.

Most of the U.S. is getting like that.

Growing up I never smoked (tobacco) myself, but I grew up around smokers. I was used to breathing their environment, and at those moments when people are still able to get away with enhancing my clean O2 with their special CO2, I'm finally able again to relive my beloved past.

So, I like to do jigsaw puzzles now and then. My favorite are 1000 piece puzzles. I go through phases with this, where I'll do one puzzle every couple days, to one every couple of years. The one I'm doing now, I started over two years ago! Life got hectic causing me to have to put the puzzle away for a while. Earlier tonight I realized this puzzle is kicking my @$$...I rarely have this much difficulty putting one together. This is a picture of the one I'm doing now...great Escher picture called Relativity. :)

Hah, spooked my boss out the other morning: had some very dense fog, the pea-soup stuff that hung around till well after first break. We couldn't see a foot past the windows. At one point, while he and I looked outside, I asked the superstitious old goat if he'd ever seen The Mist. He nodded. I then asked him to imagine a buncha weird monsters and what-not hiding out in that fog. He didn't like that.

"We don't need no damn monsters," he grumbled. The little guy's eyes shown with genuine fear; this is a guy who believes in ghosts, curses, demons, etc. I've even got him convinced that our recently deceased co-worker's machine is haunted. Heh heh.

Some people are easily spooked. It's fun.

I am!! I always have one on the dining room table (as we never dine there!). I'm more of a 500 piece puzzle girl and they take me forever, unless my husband decides to sit down and work it- he's fast at puzzles. That's a very cool puzzle you're working on. It would probably take me 5 years, so 2 is not so bad. Someone usually gives me one for my birthday and Christmas.

Hi EMARX ! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever.

I have a catechesis training to go to today - have to leave here in 20 mins and be gone all day. It'll be good for me. The kids are teenagers - they don't need or appreciate me anymore. I never thought I'd miss those days when they were toddlers needing me every second of their life, but I do.

I am not looking forward to those days!

Have a great day, Holly!

((all in need or not))
Hi - I meant to say something in the God Bomb thread but got distracted - happy to hear your dad's surgery went well. You're both in my prayers!

My oldest daughter was never a surly mouthy teenager. She couldn't bear to hurt my feelings - she was around 20 before she did such, and she was away at college, so I could just hang up the phone. But these two younger ones - ugh! I keep thinking I should just go stay at a friend's house for a few days and let them figure things out. Then they might appreciate me.

Le sigh. I have to take my leave now. Y'all have a great Saturday!
