Peter Pan :) I realized the last time I was in the library that I've never read Barrie's original story, just the Disney version. So LilMan and I are reading it together, a couple of chapters a night. It's very funny! Some of the jokes go right over Nick's head, but I've laughed quite a few times. Peter is a much different character than presented by Disney, and so is Tink.
Peter Pan always struck me as a story for adults. How many people have we known that refused to grow up? I know I've got one of those.:rofl: There is definitely an appeal for children with Tinker and the silly pirates. It is a wonderful all around story.

Started a book about the nativity gospels by Matthew and Luke. The Nativity it is called by the biblical scholar Geza Vermes. Compares their stories and compare them to other jewish-christian stories from about the same time. Just begun. starts with a discussion of the genealogies of Jesus that occur in both. Why are they there and why do they look as they do and why are they so very different? Some other questions he discusses too related to the genealogies. Interesting.

I am reading 20th Century ghosts at the moment and I am really enjoying the writing of Joe Hill. Have his other three books on deck to be read as well and can't wait to get to them.
I fell for the temptation and finally ordered 20th Century Ghosts. Felt like some shortstories and November is so far away.....
This morning I decided to FINALLY start 20th Century Ghosts (been in my TBR pile for way too long!). Then I come to this thread and read I'm not the only one thinking about this book - exciting! =D

Reading the entire Harry Potter series again. Haven't reread all the books since before the final film came out. The story never loses its magic for me.
I usually re-read the series once a year or two. It's really a great series, and its a wonderful look at a maturing writer. The final books in the series are (in my opinion), much stronger than the earlier ones.
It really helps make the growing up of the characters believable.

My son and I started reading these together several years ago. (I read aloud to him.) We're about 1/4 into the last book! Such a special time between us. He's almost 14, and still asking me to read to him. :)
