I loved this book! I didn't even know it was a movie!

Well damn! I had no idea. I watched the movie way too young. Also, I'm Catholic, so there's that. Demons are real, so is guilt. Poor Dimmy was just doin' his best.
Yep, the movie comes out in September...right around the corner. The previews look good. I'm really enjoying the book, it's a good read.

Missed this one when it was new but picked up a copy of Eat Pray Love at the thrift store and has been on my TBR pile for a while. Needed a change of pace after the last few books and curious as to how it compares to the movie. It's bringing back memories of my trip to Italy and wishing I could go back again. :smile2:

I read Eat, Pray. Love back to back with Gift from the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh (Charles Lindbergh's wife). They are great companion pieces, so much so that I bought them both for my mom that year for Mother's Day. Enjoy!

Peter Pan :) I realized the last time I was in the library that I've never read Barrie's original story, just the Disney version. So LilMan and I are reading it together, a couple of chapters a night. It's very funny! Some of the jokes go right over Nick's head, but I've laughed quite a few times. Peter is a much different character than presented by Disney, and so is Tink.

Shirley Jackson responding to criticism . . .

Side note . . .I can't prove this is the real deal, but either way I think it's cool.

Quarry's Vote (aka Primary Target) - Max Allan Collins

Back to my favorite anti-hero, Quarry. This book was published in 1987 after a 10 year layoff of the Quarry series. After this, there was nearly a 20 year layoff until the next one when Hard Case Crime published the old books and sparked a renewed interest in Quarry. I discovered this series through the Hard Case Crime books. I'm glad that Stephen King published a couple of Hard Case Crime books because it led to me exploring the other Hard Case Crime books and I have discovered many excellent books from this publisher.
