Not a craft, exactly but I make my daughter's Halloween costumes every year. This year she's going to be Legolas the elf from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Cape and arm bracers are handmade and the other items are thrift store finds (her own boots).

That's great! You sewed this by hand?

Very nice job--and you didn't do this with a sewing machine?! Even more impressed. Takes me back to when my kids were young and I made their costumes.

I've always wanted to learn! My Grandma was going to teach me, but we didn't get around to it and she passed away in 2006. The woman who was like a second mother to me, told me she would teach me as well. She died in a tragic accident several years ago. I guess the lesson is, treasure the time and "todays" with loved ones.

I am missing seeing everybody's crafts. There has got to be some handmade Christmas gifts being made. I am happy to be amongst fellow King fans but when I found this craft thread here on the boards my excitement level kicked up a notch. So now that I have put this out there let me own up to this: I made something for someone for a Christmas gift. I wrapped it,packed it,and "marked it with a B."What I did not do was remember to photograph it:hammer:

I've been working on a queen-size quilt for my daughter since before Thanksgiving. The piecing has been done for a while but now I'm doing the quilting. Even though it's on my sewing machine, not by hand, it's taking forever because I only have the time/energy to do it on weekends. It's not photographing the detail well because it's an off-white background with off-white thread for the quilting.

So much of my early work was given away without me even thinking to photograph.
