I want to knock off Negan's block with 'Lucille'! Man, it's gonna be a long wait. I bet it was Carl or even Rick. Man, it could be any of them. Not sure if they would show a woman getting beat to death on television. What does everyone else think?

I don't think it's Carl or Rick but it could be anyone else. I'm thinking maybe Eugene since he is the only one they didn't show (if I'm remembering correctly) during the eeny, meeny, miny, moe sequence.

I loooooved the end. Jeffery Dean Morgan just single-handedly revitalized this show.

I thought I remembered Eugene cringing as he pointed the bat at him before moving on. My guess is Glenn as in the comics.

Well, we know who it's NOT.
It wasn't Carl, or Neegan wouldn't have said "If anybody moves, cut his other eye out and feed it to his father. Not Rick, either. Wouldn't be able to cut the eye out of a skull that's mush. Couldn't feed it to one that's mush, either.
It's not Maggie, because the actress talked about what's happening next season pretty nonchelantly. I doubt that it's Glenn, either, because he bit it in the comic.
Wasn't Carol or Morgan, because they weren't there.
Who does that leave? Abraham, Sasha, Michonne, Maggie, Eugene, Rosita, Daryl... and whoever I'm missing.
I doubt that it's Daryl, too.
My guess is that it's one of the guys. Either Abraham or Eugene. My reason for that is Neegan's words. "Taking it like a champ!" To me, that sounds like what you'd say to a guy. Girls aren't generally referred to as champs. With those choices, Abraham gets my vote to bite the big one. After all, Eugene already did that. (Think about it. Tongue in cheek humor.)
And I think Abraham is physically capable of still being up after a haymaker from Lucielle.
Those are my guesses, anyway.

they couldn't have lived. The sound effects of a skull being crushed to mush, as you said, makes it clear they're dead. And some would say, because Glenn already survived two completely unsurvivable circumstances that his number is up. Negan said he couldn't decide, so he could easily have decided to randomly take back Glenn's chance that he 'gave' him for his emotional meltdown.

Good point about Carl. Scott Gimple suggested (in not too many words) that it was a big character by saying "it would change the trajectory of the show". I'm even wondering if Daryl dies and that's why AMC has given him his own show so they don't lose those viewers, lol. Great finale. Did I mention I can't stand Negan? ;)

I thought the second half of season 6 was excellent. The first half wasn't too strong but most of the second half episodes (except the Benny Hill one ;-D) were very tense.

Yes, the Benny Hilltop chase!!
Even Negan's way of speaking and dialogue was better and different than everyone elses'... all the characters on this show have begun to talk the same way, in cadence, or pauses, or what have you...

I fell asleep about five minutes into the episode, and woke up fifteen minutes before the end,so will have to watch it again..but I for one am getting sick of the cliffhanger stuff just to keep our interest piqued. That said,am thinking it was Eugene that got teed off on..he was spaced out a little bit farther than the others, they all looked equally spaced, but he was a little away from the next..geez does that nicoterro guy have a big enough ego,did you hear him correct the host on how to say his name on talking dead? settle down pal..well,great,now gotta spend what, six months having to mull over who it was..

I dunno
with just about any series I've ever watched cliffhangers to draw the audience back for the next season have been standard. Although there are a lot of variations to that standard. In this case, with a post-apocalyptic world a lot of characters are always dying off.

I hear you,but we just got finished with the whole glenn under the dumpster debacle, now we gotta deal with this..and I suppose it is just me,but I didn't care for the whole negan speech, jesus would a guy really do that in a post apocalyptic world? I know, each to their own, some like it,I didn't..guess I wil still tune in come august or September for the answer, for now,I will be watching this episode over again shortly, kind of a night owl so should be able to stay awake after my little nap earlier..

To me it was like an
interrogator breaking down his victims psychically to show their helplessness before him, and judging by Rick's reactions, it was working....

That's entirely possible. But
there are reasons for each of them. Maggie looks like crap. Rick's the leader. Who better to kill if you want the rest to fall in line? Daryl killed a LOT of his men, and the Neegs isn't happy about it. It could have been anybody.

I agree. It was stinky enough to leave us hanging for 4 weeks about Glenn. Now we get to wait 6 MONTHS? Uncool.
[Unless good ol' Rick has something up his sleeve, and knowing him maybe he does.. ;) ]
I hope so. I really do. Because
any leader, or father for that matter, would have been saying "Take me! Spare them!" and he didn't do that. Kind of a weenie move, if he doesn't have a plan B.
So. Who's up for FTWD for the next 6 months. Think Junkie Depp's changed his clothes yet?

Just my two cents on this episode. I hate to ever say that an episode was boring....but the whole blockade situation got old fast. Jeffery Dean Morgan was awesome. I just think that this cliffhanger was not necessary. Why could we have not seen the person he killed? I do not get Carol begging to be killed. Okay my thoughts./SPOILER]

The cliffhanger doesn't bother me as long as they don't cheat and I doubt they will. I think the cliffhanger is kind of secondary here anyway because the real story was about destroying the false confidence the group had built and that story has been completed. Next the cliffhanger will be revealed and the story will go in a new direction.

I think you're on the right track, fljoe0 . I think that's why our people defeated the Termites and Wolves so (relatively) easily, too: the writers were trying to give them a reason for overconfidence. I don't think it was as effective as they'd hoped it would be, but I did wonder why those went down so easily.

I liked this episode, on the whole. Still some silly stuff, like
leaving Alexandria relatively unguarded: REALLY??? And Carl locking Enid in the closet was dumb. What if no one realized she was in there and she died? The town is virtually empty now. It's not out of the realm of reason that she could die of dehydration before anyone noticed she was in there. Dumb. Still, I think they did a good job of building a sense of uneasiness over the course of the episode. And despite his monologue (lol), I thought Jeffrey Dean Morgan was sufficiently creepy to warrant spending that time. Who died? I have three roads of thought: first and most devastating: Glenn. I still think this is the most likely road. Second: Abraham. If I was Negan, that's the one I would kill. He already left Rick and Carl out of the equation, and killing a sick woman and making a martyr is likely to incite more trouble than it's worth. Abraham is the one who looks the strongest and most dangerous at this point. To kill him would be horribly demoralizing. Third and most wimpy path: Aaron or Rosita, because really, Who cares? They could do this to claim that they'd killed a main cast member, but it would be a real chickenshit move on the show's part. It's set up by making Aaron go along with no good gaddamn reason, but... Chickenshit.

Yeah, and
why didn't Negan's group shoot out the tires of the RV? Then later it was apparent, after Negan's reveal from the RV, he wanted it for himself. Their property is his property. Initially this bugged me. Leaving Alexandria so vulnerable, like you said. The contradiction of Carol not wanting to kill and ironically doing nothing but that. At least her conversation with Morgan may be shaking some sense into him. They both are being stubborn.
