What a nice thing!! Is the chicken salt any good? Hmmm.... I saw on Alton Brown the other night that there's a salt made in your neck of the woods - is that any good?
Eh. About like any other salt, as far as I'm concerned :) Chicken salt tastes like the coating on Chicken In A Biscuit crackers, and it's therefore magical.

I know--salt overload, but oh-so-delicious. I only have those in the house maybe once a year--I know my limits.
I'm that way with Nutella. I just can't buy it. I'll eat if you bring it, but I promised not to buy it anymore.

I love that little bird painting on the 100 year old wood that was in your gift box. What a thoughtful gift!

Sandy is a love. I had a bad couple of years a few years ago, and as I pulled out of it, I started noticing little birds. They just made me happy. when not much else did. Sandy is an artist herself, and I have a wall full of drawings and paintings she made for me, and little statues she has sent me are everywhere :)

Incidentally, I discovered one day that my little birds weren't random. I was musing on them one day and wondering why they'd become so central to my life, and got my answer when the words of Matthew 26/27 played out in my mind. I knew it was the bible, but had no idea where it was from--I had to look it up. That whole section from 25-34 is a comfort to me now.

Funny about the birds. I agree. As I came back to myself last spring, the birds meant so much to me - I think their presence helped get me back. I just love them so much now. I'd never paid them much attention before. I'll go read Matthew and see if I understand. I don't recall the passage. But birds and flowers changed my life. The Ogre got me a screen door a couple weeks ago so I can keep the back door open all the time - at least until it's too hot. I love to hear them and if I see a cardinal I'm just over the moon happy. There was a dove on my back fence yesterday. I've never seen a dove in my yard ever before. I'm so excited!

It's not the first time I've had a note from above, but it was one of the nicest :) That section (Mt 6:25-34) is about worry and its uselessness. 26/27 was what struck me: Look at the birds in the sky. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they are? Can any of you, however much you worry, add one single cubit to your span of life?

how did your meeting go?
Good - I have changed my hours of work from yesterday (April 20th) until the next meeting on May 10th. It is weird to have to stay until 3:30 rather than being able to hit the gym at around 3:15 but it gives me extra time in the morning to go buy a coffee and get settled in etc.

At the meeting on May 10th we will see if I can switch back to 7 to 3 or not.

I was wondering the same thing :) How was it, Neesy ?
Thanks for asking.

All is well - I have been there 10 years and we have a union. I was just somehow or other gradually getting into a bad habit of showing up 10 minutes late which made it look bad.

I know - I should come in early! It is not so much that I do not LIKE my job - I can just be disorganized and/or get distracted and lose track of time. I sometimes wonder if I have attention deficit or sumthin' :facepalm_smiley::facepalm:

I did 21 years in the military and never got charged with being AWOL - (the buggers could do that if you were late,) :belial: so don't ask me what is causing this. Maybe because I am getting older?

I pray that I don't end up like Dad (he had a bad case of Alzheimer's) - every time the wrong word comes out I start to wonder. They say that's the first sign!

I just read a post that she was happy and things went well. God Bomb I think is where it's at.
Yeah - I was so freaked out at having to go to a meeting - I wanted to take an Ativan but I did not have any with me. It was bringing back bad memories of a serious incident at work from 2013 and I may have been just immersing myself in worry.

I am so relieved it was not something serious after all. Thanks to everyone who supported me and send good wishes my way.

Surprise care package from one of my dearest friends who lives in Australia. 2 packs of Tim-Tams (the US version are decidedly NOT the same), Arnott's mint slice, chicken flavored salt (?), and a lovely handmade painting on a 100 year old board. I'm blessed (and a little leaky around the eyes). She's coming for a visit to the US in September and I can hardly wait :)View attachment 15403

I have missed the "I have a meeting" post - Do tell. I'm too lazy to go a' searchin' *actually busy - I'm busy and I should be working but must take a break or I'll go nuts*. Anyhow, how was the meeting? What was the meeting? Champ thinks you're preggers. LOL - I'd fall out dead if I got pg at my age. Just dead. That would be the end of me.
Hey - wait a second :rolleyes::stupid:

No - impossible! (inconceivable) ha ha excuse the pun

Still no grandchildren yet - maybe when Steph and Josh get married some time in the future! :encouragement::)

I just want to say, no matter what you think of me-- like me, can't stand me, think I'm an idiot --whatever. I want you guys to know that I am very protective of this community and all of you here.

And that's not saying we don't get on each other's very last nerve sometimes, we're like brothers and sisters that way. But we all usually can find some common ground and appreciation for each other in one thread or another on this board. And things are cyclic. Round and round we go and each lap is different.

I just wanted you all to know that.
:biggrin2::m_adore::m_clap::m_loveu: - how can anyone NOT like you (don't be silly Dana Jean )

I was not here yesterday so I missed any drama - I am sure I will figure it out eventually.

I was here and I still don't know what it's about. Maybe that means I caused it. :pudency:

I am absolutely NOT asking what happened. I actually do not like when a mod takes care of a situation and then it gets rehashed over and over and over.

Your head is just full of very important things :) You'll get a handle on the tardiness, now that you're reminded about it. I'm glad it went well ((hugs))
