Here is an old cereal - you'd never see that word used up here anymore - we don't use the word "Indian" anymore to refer to First Nations or Indigenous people in Canada

this one reminds me of the cereal in "Cujo"

My memory of a breakfast treat were those little boxes of cereal - the variety pack and yes it was quite the careful operation to open the boxes just so, so that the milk could go in and not leak out :courage:

I loved Smacks sometimes with warm milk in the winter time. Nowadays I only have one box a year.

Nowadays I mostly like oats like they have been showing on TV, in a small jar with some milk, and I put in a tablespoon of honey and perhaps raisins or some other type of dried or fresh fruit.. Chilled overnight in the refrigerator, to me it is delicious, I never was much of a one for warm oatmeal, but this method of preparing it is really good.

I've started to eat overnight oats for a month now it's really tasty and you can get frozen fruits far cheaper then the fresh ones.

Yeah,I just went and peeked..promise I am not as creepy as the guy in the above meme! ;)
I figured we were about the same age when you mentioned Quisp. I hope the Amazon Quisp tastes as good as the 70s stuff. The past few Halloweens, they put the monster cereals (Count Chocula, etc.) back on the shelves and they do not taste the same!

I was worried about Lucky Charms. They said they were going to take out some coloring ingredient??I can't remember what it was. Immediately I went into mourning. So far, I haven't noticed a different taste, but, they could be cleaning out the warehouse before they introduce the new and improved Charms.

Well, derf, we don't use it down here anymore, either (unless we're talking about a baseball team). Nor do we use the word 'Sugar' in the title of a children's breakfast cereal (although most of em are just lousy with it). And...if memory serves, our 'Smacks' were always endorsed by a cartoon frog named Dig'Um.

Anyhoo, I always dug Fruity Pebbles.

Yep, the frog was on that box. I didn't even wondered if he had a name. :biggrin2:

But they contained 8 vitamins and minerals, and were part of this complete breakfast....
;;D This. Exactly! I loved my cereal. Saturday mornings I would get up as early as I could (cartoons started at 6am, but more than once I would watch the test pattern for a few minutes!) and pour my own cereal and watch cartoons until my folks got up a few hours later.

Some of my favorites:
Trix - I always felt sorry for the rabbit and when we got the chance to vote, I voted for him to get a bowl of Trix. Those kids were mean!
Count Chocula and BooBerry - I didn't like FrankenBerry for whatever reason and no, they don't taste the same now. Probably took out too many chemicals!;-D
Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles
Cookie Crisp
Lucky Charms
Cap'n Crunch Crunch Berries

Ah, good times!=D
