So, I had been talking to the owner of the window company about the cost of the replacement windows for my house. I couldn't afford the ones the salesman quoted, and the owner had been able to get a single hung window for me at a much lower price. The only difference would be that the windows wouldn't have the lifetime glass breakage warranty. I figure that's okay with me, and wrote a check for the deposit. The owner was even so nice as to come to the salon to drop off the contract, and pick up the check.
When I opened my email last Thursday, he had sent an update on my windows. He said that he had upgraded me to the double hung windows for the same price.
I know it seems like such a little thing, but I'm really excited!
There are still some "real" caring businessmen out there. You just found one!

Excellent news! That's a rare thing to have happen and I'd be excited, too. :smile2:

Awesome. You will be so happy with your new windows. You'll be so excited that after you get them, you will be out cleaning them every day. ;-D I got new windows a few years ago and for a few months, I couldn't stand to see a smudge on them. Now, I don't care but when they are new, you want them to shine every day. ;-D

I got my accordion shutters a couple of weeks ago and they are so awesome. No more panels to store and no more panels to install and take down every time there's a serious threat of a storm. I just grab the handles and shut them.

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a nice break.

Here is what's new in my world...Scott is back to work! Had to go back on nights first thing, one more to go. He is doing pretty well, he is a little sore and tired. Thank you all for the prayers and vibes and good wishes over the last 6 months!!

And Evan has his driving learners permit. He is improving. He has really only given me one  moment so far. Let him drive to the grocery store yesterday and he did fine parking, picked a nice, wide open spot. But while we were in the store someone parked next to my car and a pretty brand new looking Corvette was parked nose to nose with my car....he gets in, puts his seat belt on, starts the car, then put it in DRIVE....Only time I've hollered so far....NO!! Reverse!!! :dejection:

No harm came to the Corvette. Or my Edge. ;-D

Have a really great day! Welcome back!! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:
Hooray for Scott!! Hooray for Evan!! Big hugs for Mama!! (((Cat)));-D

It is raining, Sage is watching cartoons and Scott is sleeping. I want to read Gwendy's Button Box but I have dishes to do first. Boo hiss!! ;-D

Only 38 right now, so if this rain turns into a wintery mix, you will all hear me screaming!

Have a great day! Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Yes, I have. It's all I can do not to open and close them every time I walk by them. ;-D

If my windows get dirty, I can just close the shutters instead of cleaning the windows. ;-D

Hope Marsha had a wonderful vacation, the kind where Peter Pan comes in through the window and takes you to never-never land. If we put Marsha in the Wendy role who is our Peter Pan and who is captain Hook and the little fairy tING. i KNOW YOU HAVE GOOD IDEAS.

....Love has made you even more beautiful.....
You are so sweet. Yes, everything with Kevin is awesome. After years of relationships that suck, it is incredibly unreal to have someone like him.
....I heard from me, and have just been giving OoO some space.....hoping he'd reach out to me-but looks as if I will have to give him a shout.....
I'm so glad that you have heard from you! I was off the grid, so I obviously missed something with ooo. I don't need to know what I missed. Come back OoO!

Sunny, Im just so glad that you're here!
OK folks, there has been something going on in my life that has not been quite perfect lately. My little Alexander is 2 1/2 years old, but I noticed he wasn't saying as many words as I thought he should have been. My eldest, Daniel, was having whole conversations at Alex's age. I had Alex evaluated, and he is a little bit delayed. I freaked out and called my mother who is a PhD child psychologist. She told me that usually at this age, evaluations have nothing to do with intellect. It really shouldn't matter anyway. The good news is, he qualifies for interventions. He starts preschool one day a week tomorrow. In addition, he is waitlisted for a speech and language class once a week and he will be going for another kind of class once a week. I'm just a little upset about it, because he is my little boy. I hope the interventions work.

Good luck with all this. It is always disconcerting when it's your own kid. He will do great with early intervention.

intervention helps the earlier they start it. My son started his at 2. He was saying no words and now does very well. Wishing Alexander the best with his intervention.

Thank you![/QUOTE

Sure. here is my favorite experience to share. My son wanted a puppy. So for his 4th Birthday, we let him pic off craigslist the puppy he wanted. So we went and this place had 2 batches of puppies. He picked one out and named him Otis. So we had him a couple days. Otis got really sick. We took him to the vet. Very sad, he told us he had a very bad case of parvo, and there was very little chance of him surviving. We decided to put him down as the vet told us it would be very costing. Our son looked at Otis and said his very first sentence. I love you Otis. It brought tears to our eyes and changed our minds ,we had to try. To this day our son and Otis are a happy couple. I hope this helps you to not be as concerned. I will keep you and Alexander in my thoughts. Please keep us updated on his progress.
