Sunny, Im just so glad that you're here!
OK folks, there has been something going on in my life that has not been quite perfect lately. My little Alexander is 2 1/2 years old, but I noticed he wasn't saying as many words as I thought he should have been. My eldest, Daniel, was having whole conversations at Alex's age. I had Alex evaluated, and he is a little bit delayed. I freaked out and called my mother who is a PhD child psychologist. She told me that usually at this age, evaluations have nothing to do with intellect. It really shouldn't matter anyway. The good news is, he qualifies for interventions. He starts preschool one day a week tomorrow. In addition, he is waitlisted for a speech and language class once a week and he will be going for another kind of class once a week. I'm just a little upset about it, because he is my little boy. I hope the interventions work.
Sending good vibes your way for little Alexander! He will do great. :love_heart:

Sure. here is my favorite experience to share. My son wanted a puppy. So for his 4th Birthday, we let him pic off craigslist the puppy he wanted. So we went and this place had 2 batches of puppies. He picked one out and named him Otis. So we had him a couple days. Otis got really sick. We took him to the vet. Very sad, he told us he had a very bad case of parvo, and there was very little chance of him surviving. We decided to put him down as the vet told us it would be very costing. Our son looked at Otis and said his very first sentence. I love you Otis. It brought tears to our eyes and changed our minds ,we had to try. To this day our son and Otis are a happy couple. I hope this helps you to not be as concerned. I will keep you and Alexander in my thoughts. Please keep us updated on his progress.

Recopied as I somehow got this added to quoting you,Not sure what I did.
What a beautiful, wonderful memory. Thank you for sharing it. :love_heart:

OutofOrder UPDATE!!!!!!

...just got off the phone from chatting with Triple O.....he is still having life struggles but it appears things are beginning to slowly brighten up for him. He again asked me to pass along how good it makes him feel to know he is missed and he also promised he would check in as soon as he could-but that right now "it's not in the cards"....still a lot of things to fall in place so he can get back to being what passes for normal for him.....
I am glad to hear the troubles are getting easier but so sad and scared about the not in the cards part.

I miss you so much, OoO. Please be well. Know you are so loved by so many. :love_heart:

Thank you Scott for reaching out again and keeping us updated. :love_heart:

And Evan has his driving learners permit. He is improving. He has really only given me one  moment so far. Let him drive to the grocery store yesterday and he did fine parking, picked a nice, wide open spot. But while we were in the store someone parked next to my car and a pretty brand new looking Corvette was parked nose to nose with my car....he gets in, puts his seat belt on, starts the car, then put it in DRIVE....Only time I've hollered so far....NO!! Reverse!!! :dejection:

Since when did they start giving 10 year olds driver licenses? ;-D

Time flies

Good morning,

No snow yet. Still saying we could see some, on Friday morning. Rain and rain and more rain in our forecast.

Did not get to read more than just a few pages of Gwendy yesterday. But seems like it is going to be great! Today is full of errands and have Sage again all day. So probably not much reading today, either.

Scott is going to grill me supper tonight since he was on nights for Mothers Day. If it is not monsooning. ;)

Ali had her little track meet yesterday and came home with 3 first place ribbons and a third place! She did great! And she went bowling with her class on Monday, first time she has ever bowled in her life and scored a 206, 203 and 187...what?!? ;-D My Grandpa and Uncle used to compete in national bowling tournaments...I think maybe she got some of their talent. And she may be a hidden track star! :D Who knew??

They get out of school next Thursday. The countdown has commenced.

Hope you all have a great day. Big big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

I'm almost envious of your weather, Cat. We're sweltering in the Deep South.

Couldn't we have alternate days of warmth and cold, or a happy medium even? I'd love that. It just doesn't seem fair for you to be suffering in the cold while the sun bears down on us, threatening to fry our brains if we go for a walk. Happy thoughts for us all!

I want to comment on your grilling anecdote: I'm obsessed with grilling. It turns out, that my boyfriend's home in New Hampshire has a stone pit! I manufactured a grill within it out of bricks and rocks and stones. Of course, I use lump charcoal and cooking oil for fuel. I was grilling some turkey burgers the other day, and some stranger in a truck pulled over and asked me "do you have a permit for that?" I answered "no, it's a 2 x 2 grill, in stone pit, do I need one?". He replied that I had to go down to the Derry turning circle, which they now call a rotary by the way, although it's the same turning circle it was when I was growing up here, and going to the fire station and ask for a burning permit for cooking permit. Long story short, they said they really didn't think I needed one, but they gave me one anyway for the nosy neighbor. On Sunday, we had pouring rain, and plans for company and a barbecue outside. I manufactured a way to cover my barbecue pit with an aluminum foil cover any piece of wire, and it was quite successful, rain and all. I know that was probably a stretch from the little grilling comment that you made about Mother's Day, but I'm excited about the fact that I was able to make a barbecue work in the pouring rain in New England. Also, Alexander had his first day of preschool today. He did a great job. I thank you all sincerely for your thoughts and prayers.

....next time the "truck feller" shows up, I can give you a few prison phrases to toss at him.....nothin' like convict bon mots to stir a burgeoning friendship.....:D
