Sunny, Im just so glad that you're here!
OK folks, there has been something going on in my life that has not been quite perfect lately. My little Alexander is 2 1/2 years old, but I noticed he wasn't saying as many words as I thought he should have been. My eldest, Daniel, was having whole conversations at Alex's age. I had Alex evaluated, and he is a little bit delayed. I freaked out and called my mother who is a PhD child psychologist. She told me that usually at this age, evaluations have nothing to do with intellect. It really shouldn't matter anyway. The good news is, he qualifies for interventions. He starts preschool one day a week tomorrow. In addition, he is waitlisted for a speech and language class once a week and he will be going for another kind of class once a week. I'm just a little upset about it, because he is my little boy. I hope the interventions work.
Holding your little Alexander in prayers, Nomik, although I'm sure all will turn out wonderful. I was quite the nervous mama, but everything turned out great. I couldn't be more proud of my son, who is now in his 40s.

Tried to send you a PM but it wouldn't go through.

I'm just back from floorball and the best description of me is probably a living dead! I am alive (i Hope) but feel dead from exhaustion. If I had been done up with some blood makeup with my tired slow steps towards home and bed i would have made a very convincing Living Dead.

That's scary. It's an eerie feeling when something like that happens at a place you frequent (or work at). There is a restaurant in my town that I eat at once in a while and one night (I wasn't there) 3 armed guys came in and robbed the restaurant and the customers. Luckily, no one was hurt.

The good news is that you weren't there. The bad news is because you weren't there, you're now a suspect. ;-D

I told my boss the only thing ginger kids steal are souls and I have plenty of those in a jar next to my bed. :D

So, I had been talking to the owner of the window company about the cost of the replacement windows for my house. I couldn't afford the ones the salesman quoted, and the owner had been able to get a single hung window for me at a much lower price. The only difference would be that the windows wouldn't have the lifetime glass breakage warranty. I figure that's okay with me, and wrote a check for the deposit. The owner was even so nice as to come to the salon to drop off the contract, and pick up the check.
When I opened my email last Thursday, he had sent an update on my windows. He said that he had upgraded me to the double hung windows for the same price.
I know it seems like such a little thing, but I'm really excited!
...."double hung" huh?......my, you ARE a lucky girl.......

OutofOrder UPDATE!!!!!!

...just got off the phone from chatting with Triple O.....he is still having life struggles but it appears things are beginning to slowly brighten up for him. He again asked me to pass along how good it makes him feel to know he is missed and he also promised he would check in as soon as he could-but that right now "it's not in the cards"....still a lot of things to fall in place so he can get back to being what passes for normal for him.....

Excellent news, and continued good vibes his way with love and green lights. May his path be cleared for a joyful return. He remains a strong part of this Ka-Tet.

Thank you!

Sure. here is my favorite experience to share. My son wanted a puppy. So for his 4th Birthday, we let him pic off craigslist the puppy he wanted. So we went and this place had 2 batches of puppies. He picked one out and named him Otis. So we had him a couple days. Otis got really sick. We took him to the vet. Very sad, he told us he had a very bad case of parvo, and there was very little chance of him surviving. We decided to put him down as the vet told us it would be very costing. Our son looked at Otis and said his very first sentence. I love you Otis. It brought tears to our eyes and changed our minds ,we had to try. To this day our son and Otis are a happy couple. I hope this helps you to not be as concerned. I will keep you and Alexander in my thoughts. Please keep us updated on his progress.

Recopied as I somehow got this added to quoting you,Not sure what I did.

I hope he enjoys whatever classes he gets. The interventions have a much better chance of helping if he's happy.

Glad he's able to get the help rather than play the "wait and see".

That is the sweetest story I've heard in a long time. I read it to Kevin, and it brought us both to tears. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! He's sorely missed and I'm troubled about what has him down. Will continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers. You're so kind to reach out and keep us informed.

Nomik
Early intervention is definitely the way to go - try not to be troubled - it's amazing how quickly EI can get it figured out. I've seen them do amazing things. Wishing the best for you!

king family fan What a sweet story about Mikey and Otis XXXOOOO (my smilies aren't working!)

Hello, friends! I'm happy to be back on the SKMB!

I've done nothing outstanding during our break. Gardening, bird watching, trivia nights. I can't complain about a thing! I've had so many thoughts to share with you and then we're back on and I've forgotten them all. Drat.

ghost19 Where did I see your news???? I was surfing about at work yesterday and saw some interesting news. I squealed. Am very happy for you. Keep on being your fantastic self.

My kids have 8 official school days left. But probably they won't finish out next week. I'm ready to get on with summer!

Watermelon, tomatoes, figs (please GOD!), patio sitting, grilling.
